Joan is a retired registered nurse. She has volunteered at the Cincinnati Zoo in the endangered wildlife division and has helped at the local hospital in the surgery waiting room. They have two sons: Jeffrey Scott (1966) a Colonel in the Air Force and a surgeon with two daughters. John Bruce (1969) an Executive Chef in Virginia with a son and a daughter. Joan wrote “Wasn’t growing up in Highland Park just the best?
