PHARR (THOMAS), TOMMIE JEAN (Jun ’59) 13974 Wisconsin, Detroit, MI 43238 313‐834‐5967 tommie_jean_thomas@hotmail.com Tommie graduated from Lewis College of Business in Detroit. She was employed with A & P and the Michigan Security Commission for a number of years. She retired in 2004 as Purchasing Agent from E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co (Automotive Division – Troy, MI) after 38 years of employment. She is a volunteer Assistant to the Computer Instructor at Parkman Branch Library teaching seniors/grandparents basic computer and internet skills. Tommie enjoys bowling, science fiction movies, crocheting, knitting, sewing and her six cats. She started taking keyboard lessons during her retirement. She studies watercolor and acrylic painting, drawing and print making at workshops of various nationally‐known artists. Her paintings were exhibited in April and May 2011 at Livonia City Hall Lobby and Flint Art Institute. (See Ad section.) PHIFER, DANIEL (EUGENE) (Jan ’59) 21251 Pembroke, Detroit, MI 48219 313‐531‐9069 313‐919‐5701 daniel.phifer@att.net Daniel retired from Chrysler with 30 yrs of service. He has a daughter, Denise Roberts (1961). PORTER (BUCCINI), MARGARET (Jun ’59) Spouse: Phillip Buccini Jr. Birmingham, MI phil.mar@comcast.net Margaret graduated from Oakland University earning a BA in Elementary Education, then on to Michigan State for an MA in Education. She taught in the Magnet Program for gifted students in Royal Oak and directed an elementary F.I.R.S.T. robotics competition. Her team of six 5th grade girls took first and second place at Lawrence Tech, placed first in Michigan, and placed second in U.S. She served on the Michigan Science Curriculum Assessment Team. She has retired from the teaching profession. Margaret has two children: Philip (1965) and Julie (1966). She also has three grandchildren: Philip and Brendan (1999) and Dino (2004). Margaret remembers struggling to march in time so she could participate in the HPHS Choir Christmas Program. She also recalls all of the good times on the bus returning from swim meets. RAFTER, MARY BETH (Jun ’59) 2004 Sunnyside Avenue, Lansing, MI 48910 517‐351‐6724 Mary Beth received a Bachelor of Science in Math. She worked with computers for the State of Michigan. She has traveled some, including Great Britain, in the mid 1980’s. She recently visited her family by way of Amtrak.
