Canson’s Mi-Teintes has long been one of the world’s leading colored pastel paper brands, and now in response to popular demand, Canson has expanded the line offering to include new Mi-Teintes “Touch” Paper and Boards! The Mi-Teintes Touch surface features an innovative, sanded-type coating with a smoother, finer tooth than other sanded papers, and is ideal for all work in soft pastels as it holds multiple layers of color on its highly receptive surface. This special primer formulation is available in 14 popular Mi-Teintes colors, from white to black and a wide range of both warm and cool mid-tones in between, and is applied (leaving a white border) to Canson’s special, archival French-made 218 lb. paper or heavyweight board. This makes for a heavier, sturdier surface than any other sanded pastel paper, ensuring your work will not warp or buckle even if a wash is applied.
La Carte Pastel is the very first product developed especially for pastel painting. La Carte Pastel has a 200 lb. stiff bristol-type weight, so unlike paper it cannot be easily folded, creased or punctured. La Carte Pastel has a neutral pH, slightly abrasive vegetable fiber coating that actually reacts with soft & oil pastel to provide enhanced adhesion, thus reducing the need to heavily fix artwork.
