“The Artist” Cover Artwork by Andy Russell “The Artist” is a 16×20" acrylic painting on panel especially commissioned for Jerry’s Holiday cover. Andy used a DaVinci Pro Panel in medium-texture gesso for its ability to allow fine detail. He uses Matisse Flow professional acrylics for their high pigmentation, creamy texture and wide range of colors. A variety of brush brands were used including Pro Stroke, Silver Brush and Grumbacher. Andy Russell of West Seneca, New York, is an award winning, self-taught artist who has been painting in his unique “Extended Realism” style since 1975. The images were originally derived from his dreams. They have now evolved to include his imaginings and actual places but are all portrayed in his perfect, serene, dream world way.

Hand-stretched onto the back of kiln-dried pine wood stretcher bars, these canvases are keyable for tightening and re-stretchable if you wish to for any reason. ¾" deep LX is fine for most techniques, while the 1 ½" deep DLX Museum has a wide edge that may be painted for frameless presentation and features a beefier stretcher suitable for larger size works. Paris Oil Primed Artists’ Linen Canvas
Give them the Best! They deserve it!
Beginning with only the finest quality long-yarn linen fibers, Paris canvas is woven into a medium weight fabric with a 42 TPI warp and 40 TPI weft. The linen is hand washed and pumiced, then coated with a layer of glue sizing and three coats of archival, non-yellowing, off-white oil primer, and is hand-sanded between coats for ideal adhesion. Once primed and dried, the canvas is stretched onto strong, solid pine stretcher bars and tacked along the sides with traditional copper tacks.
Paris Copper Tacks Made of durable steel coated in a thick layer of corrosion and rustresistant solid copper. Offer greater holding power for hand-stretched canvas and are less prone to ripping canvas than common wire staples or round-top nails.
