M airead: I feel bet t er t han ever t hank you! Ret urning t o t his group has been a t rue blessing. Aft er eight years on t he road, I felt it was t ime t o t ake a lit t le break during t he pandemic, but I t ruly missed t his family and so, when Celt ic W oman asked me t o rejoin for t he 20t h anniversary I jumped at t he chance. Somet imes you have t o t ake a wee break from somet hing t o realise just how lucky you really are and being a part of t his group t ruly feels like home for me. IA&E: W hat can you share wit h our readers about your t ravels?
Mairead Carlin M airead Carlin first joined Celt ic W oman in 2013 when she was chosen as t he replacement for one of t he original members, Chloë Agnew. M airead became t he first member of Celt ic W oman born in Nort hern Ireland. This brought a unique and much-appreciat ed perspect ive t o t he group. M airead's init ial t enure in Celt ic W oman ran from 2013 t o 2021 when she announced a break t o focus on ot her project s. M airead joyfully rejoined t he group in 2023 just in t ime for t he Christ mas t our and t he current 20t h. Anniversary t our. M airead was born in Derry on December 5, 1988. She st udied and t rained in Classical M usic at t he Trinit y Laban Conservat oire in London, specializing in Vocal Performance. M airead's classical vocal t raining adds dept h and versat ilit y t o Celt ic W oman's sound, which frequent ly explores folk t radit ions alongside classical influence. M airead's accomplishment s even before Celt ic W oman are significant . She won t he BBC Talent 's Young Singers compet it ion at age 15, has recorded wit h t he London Symphony Orchest ra, and t oured wit h iconic art ist s like Don M cLean.
Danny Boy : During t he COVID-19 hiat us, a beaut iful solo rendit ion of t he classic Irish ballad "Danny Boy" by M airead was released as part of t he #CW CW (Celt ic W oman Crush W ednesday) social media celebrat ion and cont inues t o resonat e deeply wit h fans.
M airead: Traveling is one of my favourit e t hings t o do, so it is an absolut e bonus t hat I get t o do it while I also get t o do my ot her love which is performing. W e have t raveled all over t he world wit h t his group Brazil, Aust ralia, Japan, Sout h Korea, Nort h America, Europe, China, and t he list goes on! One of my favourit e t hings t o do when we t ravel is t o discover local places and really find t he t rue gems of wherever we are. W het her t hat ?s t he local beach or a cool coffee shop, I make it my mission t o really see t he place as t he locals see it . IA&E How do you all go about Balancing Tradit ion & Innovat ion?
M airead: It is import ant art ist ically t o keep t hings fresh. However, wit h a group like Celt ic W oman, t here is also an element of legacy and being t rue t o t he reason why we are all here in t he first place. Hist ory and t radit ion are a fundament al part of why t his group exist s. People from all over t he world resonat e wit h t hat . Songs like Danny Boy and The Part ing Glass are int egral t o our shows, but we are also very much aware t hat we are moving int o a modern music indust ry and also have t o go wit h t he t imes. Our new M usical Direct or, Golden Globe nominat ed composer Brian Byrne has added a new flare t o t his group wit h his original songs and

Pat rick's Day Parades over many years t hroughout Sout hern California and for being t he producer of t he Irish Fair at Fairplex in Pomona for sever years. For over 10 years, he also was involved in t he logst ics set t ing up st ages and t ent s for t he Irish Fair and M usic Fest ival at Sant a Anit a and t he Rose Bowl.,
Publicist St eve M oyer, a spokesperson for t he Lomas family said: ?Bill Lomas, a longt ime Producer of t he iconic and world famous Hollywood Christ mas Parade for 42 years, and many ot her parades, as well as a Producer of Irish Fairs and Celt ic M usic Fest ivals t hroughout t he Sout hland and of occasional event s in t he st at es of Hawaii and Arizona, passed away peacefully at 11:00 a.m. PST on Friday, M arch 22, 2024 in Lakewood, CA, comfort rd and surrounded by his life part ner Nancy Lennon, family and friends. He died of cancer, and was 88-years-young, in bot h spirit and life.? During t he course of his long dist inguished career in t he ent ert ainment business he served at President and Chief Financial Officer of W orld W ide Spect aculars, Inc., known as Pageant ry Product ions, producing t housands of parades locally and t hroughout t he st at e of California since 1963.
