About IWA Founded in 1871, Incarnate Word Academy is a co-educational Catholic school that serves 3 year-olds through high school seniors. The school is owned and operated by the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Montessori Method Encourages children’s

natural curiosity and instills a life-long love of learning.

It provides an environment that teaches respect, compassion and responsibility for each other and for the environment.

Learning is an active process that takes place when the child is confronted with work

alternatives prepared according to the child’s developmental level and needs.

Motivation to work is a vital component of the Montessori classroom. Through this, the student experiences an inner transformation that leads not only to the acquisition of knowledge but to the development of the inner self. Maria Montessori recognized that children have natural tendencies and sensitive periods that guide their activity in positive ways. By finding
