Congratulations to our Elementary Level 4th and 5th grade Volleyball teams for playing an undefeated season! Hard work payed off for the Lady Angels. As each player grew, so did their skills along with their concept of team work. Special thanks to Coach Cathryn for leading our Lady Angels to victory!
Elementary Level celebrated the end of the Read-a-Thon with a fun Fall Fiesta. Thank you to all of the students, parents, faculty, and staff who made both the Read-a-Thon and the Fall Fiesta a huge success.

Middle Level

During the Middle Level’s House Sorting Ceremony, new students found out which house they would join this school year: Altruismo, Isibindi, Reveur, or Amistad. Angels cheered on their new members and welcomed them to their new Houses!

Origami Project

Middle Level art students built their own still life by creating unique origami pieces. They created a drawing of their origami structure and learned about different art forms, styles, and how to layer and blend various colors.

Many studies assert that origami was invented by the Japanese about a thousand years ago, but its roots may well be in China.

The House system engages students in leadership, team-building, and builds a rapport across grade levels. Using friendly competition, students are encouraged to thrive in academics, athletics, extra-curricular activities, school spirit, and community service.

School

Rock Your School Day was another memorable event this school year. This national movement has become an annual tradition at the Middle Level and teachers went above and beyond to engage and challenge our Angels in learning objectives.

Welcomes First Ever Football Coach Biology Project

The IWA Athletic Department is excited to announce the addition of Grant Ritchie as our first ever Head Football Coach. Known as “Coach Bear” by his players, he is a past IWA parent and brings extensive knowledge and experience in the sport of 6-man football. Coach Bear has held several football coaching duties including director of football oper ations, head coach, and offensive coordinator for 6-man football organizations, including CC Wings HomeSchool and CCHS Badgers. Coach Bear is humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the first Head Football Coach at IWA. The Angels have been practicing, and will play their first game against St. Augustine Friday, Oct. 28th.

Biology students discovered what is and what’s not in a Happy Meal during their McMush Macromolecules Lab. While AP Biology students learned about protein denaturing through making some homemade cheese!

IWA co-hosted the Annual Sprint Meet at the CCISD Natatorium. It was a huge meet and our Angel swimmers performed well.

For the first meet and being out of the water for almost the whole week, the team had some great races. “Dry land training has really helped to keep them in shape. It is not ideal but it is making them stronger,” says coach Myra Nelson. Just keep swimming, Angels!
