THE UGRR BICYCLE ROUTE MARKER UNVEILED Due to the generous donation from The Potter’s Wheel, the UGRR Bicycle Route Marker has been unveiled. Gary Owens-The Great American Farm Table built the frame out of railroad ties for the marker, Robinson & Associates designed the marker, Bob Franks-The Itawamba Historical Society provided all the pictures and historical facts, and the City Workers erected the marker and provided the electrical wiring for the railroad lanterns. The marker is located at the end of the ICC Walking trail near the entrance to the Whitten Campgrounds. There is a five county agreement in the works for the Mississippi part of the trail. This agreement will allow all five of the counties to work together to seek grant funds for unified signage and a bicycle lane for the entire route. There will also be cross marketing efforts with all of the counties and the State of MS. Come ride the MS UGRR Bicycle Route today!
