In 2012, financial support of CHF 5 million was provided to the National Associations. Of that amount, 12.5% was disbursed equally to the 70 full member Associations, equating to a basic allocation of CHF 8,929 per Association. The remaining 87.5% was distributed on a proportional basis, based on the number of athletes from a given Association who participated in the FIS Alpine Skiing World Championships 2011 and the FIS Nordic Skiing World Championships 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER) and Oslo (NOR) respectively. The amount allocated for each of the 971 individual participants at these World Championships equated to CHF 4,506. Moreover, a total of CHF 5 million was allocated to the FIS member Associations in the form of special distribution payments. The division of the bonuses allocated was calculated proportionally, based on the number of athletes participating in the FIS World Championships in 2011. The size of the bonus payments equated to CHF 5,236 per athlete. This financial support provided by FIS is designated for the development and promotion of the various ski disciplines. The National Associations are entitled to determine how exactly they allocate the funds between the various disciplines, national teams, and youth development programmes etc. The distribution of the bonus pool was calculated in proportion to the number of athletes from each National Association participating in the FIS Alpine and FIS Nordic World Championships, as this was deemed to be the simplest method of calculation; however, the use of the bonus payments is not restricted to those two disciplines.

Die Verteilung von 87.5% der finanziellen Unterstützung richtete sich nach der Anzahl der Athleten, die an den Alpinen und Nordischen Ski Weltmeisterschaften 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER) und Oslo (NOR) gestartet sind. Für jeden der insgesamt 971 gestarteten Athleten ergab dies ein Anteil von 4‘506 CHF. Es ist ebenfalls eine Sonderprämie (Special Distribution) in der Höhe von insgesamt 5 Mio. CHF an die Mitgliedsverbände ausbezahlt worden. Die Berechnung der Anteile ergab sich aus der Anzahl gestarteter Athleten von Vollmitgliedern, welche an den Weltmeisterschaften 2011 gestartet waren. Dies ergab einen Anteil von 5‘236 CHF pro Athlet. Diese finanziellen Unterstützungen der FIS müssen für die Entwicklung und Förderung des Skisports durch die FIS Mitgliedsverbände eingesetzt werden. Wie die Mittel im Einzelnen verwendet werden – also die Aufteilung auf die verschiedenen FIS-Disziplinen, Nationalmannschaften, Nachwuchsförderung, Veranstaltungen, usw. – bleibt den einzelnen Nationalen Skiverbänden überlassen. Ein Verteilschlüssel, der auf der Teilnahme an den Alpinen und Nordischen Ski Weltmeisterschaften basiert, hat sich als angemessene Berechnungsmethode zur Aufteilung der finanziellen Mittel erwiesen, beschränkt ihre Verwendung jedoch nicht auf diese Disziplinen.

Pour chacun des 971 athlètes participants, la part s’élevait à 4 506 francs suisses.Une prime d’un montant de 5 millions de francs suisses a également été versée aux Fédérations membres. La répartition des primes versées est calculée en fonction du nombre d’athlètes participant aux Championnats du Monde FIS 2011. Celle prime s’élevait à 5 236 francs suisses par athlète. Ces soutiens financiers de la FIS doivent servir au développement et à la promotion des différentes disciplines de ski. La manière dont sont utilisées ces primes – répartition entre les différentes disciplines de la FIS, les équipes nationales, formation des jeunes, etc. – relève de la responsabilité des Fédérations Nationales. Une répartition basée sur la participation aux Championnats du Monde FIS de Ski Alpin et de Ski Nordique s’est avérée la méthode la plus simple pour l’attribution des primes. Toutefois, l’utilisation de ces sommes ne se limite pas à ces seules disciplines.
