MSc in Accounting with Finance* This programme is intended to equip participants with a solid grounding in the knowledge and skills of finance and accounting, and contextualises such specialist knowledge and skills into the broader business frameworks in which they are applied. This will enable graduates of the programme to operate effectively in management roles in finance, accounting and related areas. It will also serve as an ideal springboard for progressing to study and qualification with specialist professional accounting institutions, should that be a career aspiration for participants, and relevant professional exemptions are being pursued in this context. For those applicants with a strong background and achievement in professional accounting examinations, some exemption from taught modules will be available. These exemptions will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Course Details

This MSc is suitable for graduates of business, finance or related disciplines. The normal minimum entry requirement is a 2.2 honours degree. Applicants who have a minimum of two years professional experience in a related discipline or who wish to develop their knowledge of accounting and finance at master’s level are particularly encouraged to apply.

The programme is aimed at supporting students in their development of strategic, critical and analytical thinking as well as reinforcing the technical and applications skills which are required for the obtaining of professional qualifications. The programme is therefore benchmarked against professional qualifications (such as those awarded by The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, The Institute of Certified Public Accountants Ireland) and current thinking in the areas of strategic management development and Leadership. MSc graduates will therefore be equipped with a strong academic grounding, highly developed practical and professional skills, and confidence in their ability to enter the workplace and undertake a leading role in formulating the strategic direction of a successful business enterprise.
