Diploma in Video Production The Diploma in Video Production provides students with all of the skills necessary to produce their own documentary videos. From basic shooting and editing to interviewing, script-writing and storytelling, this course is a one-stop shop for any film and/or journalism enthusiast. Taught by a professional documentarian, the course guides students through the process of producing videos in highly practical, hands-on sessions. Course Details

Course start date: October & February Course duration: 12 weeks, one evening per week plus select all-day Saturday classes for skills instructions. Awarding body: The Institute of Commercial Management (ICM)

This course is for people who are interested in documentary production, corporate promotional video production, advertising, viral marketing, multimedia journalism, storytelling on the web, and hands-on instruction in professional interviewing, filming, editing and movie-making.

• Studying multimedia stories and documentary films from a practical perspective • Video basics (how to use the video camera like a pro) • Setting up a good interview shot • Lighting for interviews • Interviewing skills • Good b-roll versus useless footage • Non-linear editing basics (Final Cut Express) • Storytelling • Multimedia production for the web versus TV • Critiques of student work
