Chris Corrales to Facilitate Cabinet Maker’s Association FREE Round Table Lunch Event at AWFS Friday, July 19

C

hris Corrales, the owner of CNC Factory, will facilitate the Cabinet Makers Association AWFS Educational Round Table Discussion “What’s Your Problem” at 11:30 am on Friday, July 19 during AWFS Fair 2019. The event is free and can be added when registering for AWFS at AWFSFair.org.

Corrales was running his own woodshop and producing over 100 cabinets a day, when he realized he needed a better, more robust and more precise CNC machine to perform the output his business demanded. He tweaked and rebuilt many CNC’s before making his own machines and ultimately opening CNC Factory in Santa Ana, California where his machines are engineered and built today. Participants of the CMA/AWFS educational lunch and learn series are encouraged to discuss: Growth Management, Pricing, Finding a Market Niche, Choosing Equipment and more. “This is a great opportunity for cabinet and furniture makers to see how others are overcoming the same problems they may be having,” Corrales says. “In addition, we can learn easier ways of doing things, and better ways to solve everyday problems- while becoming more profitable!”

Why the Cabinet Shop Chose to go Driverless in 2019

T

his year Curtis Urrutia made the decision to replace his table saw with a CNC router in his five man cabinet shop in Boise, Idaho. He shopped large brands and discovered even the used ones were upwards of $200,000. When he was ready to give up the quest, he was told about a unique company in Southern California building CNCs in their own factory, and selling them for a fraction of what the monster companies offered.

training and life-long customer support. CNC Factory promises that “nobody supports customers better!” See the 2019 Python XPR and all the company’s routers, edge banders, thermofoil presses and Lockdowel drilling inserting machines at www.CNCFactory.com

“I flew out to see how CNC Factory did things and what they were making,” Curtis Urrutia, Owner of The Cabinet Shop says. “I was really excited to see the Python XPR that could do everything – really fast! It could load, cut and unload with only one guy operating and even he didn’t have to babysit it.”

About Curtis Urrutia: After working in the construction industry for several years Curtis Urrutia chose to bet on his talents, industry experience and life-lessons learned from in his family-owned grocery store in Boise Idaho. In 2007 he launched The Cabinet Shop. The Cabinet Shop’s brand is Relationships. Creative instinct, combined with a commitment to deliver top-quality, custom cabinets on schedule, have been key to earning the trust of builders, remodelers and homeowners.

Curtis has several friends in the business and had seen far more expensive machines do far less. “When I found out the price, I couldn’t believe it – all this for less than $75,000!” He evaluated this top-of-the-line machine for the entire day and then decided the Python XPR was for him. The Python XPR proved to be the efficient, high-output machine that did everything he wanted that he didn’t know he could afford. In addition, with no heavy lifting, it would save the operator’s back. “The day I started using my Python I walked around with a smile on my face all day, because I was getting so much done! And it was just me in the shop. And I wasn’t even tired at the end of the day!”

Curtis adds that the Python XPR is simple to use. “I didn’t need much computer knowledge at all to start operating it, immediately. Part of the reason is it works so well with my cabinet software.” Come to the 2019 AWFS Fair and see the Python XPR in Action CNC Factory is demonstrating this “Driverless” CNC in booth 7414. --CNC Factory will also be hosting smaller equipment in booth 9082. The Python XPR reaches a pinnacle of engineering that combines third generation (3G) robotic loading with: 1. spoil board self cleaning; 2. hands free robotic labeling and printing; 3. laser measuring for critically precise depth-cutting; 4. part marking -- for post production processes such as edgebanding and fastener inserting. The 2019 Python XPR is designed for profitability, speed and ease-of-use. It is the workhorse of all CNC machines saving users’ backs and delivering a host of grow-as-you-grow features. The “Driverless” Python XPR sells for $74,000 and includes

Shelving, cabinets and countertops should do more than simply serve as storage—they should simplify your life and compliment the other elements of your home design. They should enhance your whole home, maximizing your space, delivering solutions to your storage problems, and providing balance to home décor. Peace of Mind: From Design, to Production, to Install

3k Solutions Builds with Efficiency and Simplifies Life

implicity, efficiency, and beauty: principles that Jason Jepsen has lived by throughout his 25 years in the construction industry. It is no wonder that when he decided to branch out to create his very own company, 3K Solutions, he chose the most efficient, simple-to-operate machinery, and the most efficient and simple method of producing cabinetry. All this with the goal of giving customers the ‘peace of mind’ in maximizing their living space and making them feel serene in their living environment. Jason can deliver this ‘peace of mind’ because he has it too. His choice of machinery and construction methods has ensured this. Jason chose two revolutionizing machines when he decided to equip his woodshop: 1. The CNC Factory “Driverless” Python XPR with auto loading and unloading 2. The CNC Factory Scorpion LDR – horizontal drilling and inserting machine for Lockdowel tool-less, glue-less fasteners. The Python was chosen to keep his seven employees and himself physically healthy. With no heavy lifting it loads 50 sheets automatically with just a push of a button—and unloads them without a technician touching a board. Jason saves money in workman’s comp claims and employee sick days because his guys’ backs never get tired. In addition, the Python XPR is wicked-fast with no stopping between sheets, and a 12-tool carousal that can cut 1,900 inches per minute! It is easy to operate and program, using Jason’s choice of design software to best fit his custom jobs. The Scorpion LDR is a game changer for cabinet, furniture and closet construction. This revolutionary construction method inserts Lockdowel no-show fasteners and enables faster, simpler construction, without any hardware showing at all. The customer enjoys the smooth modular look and feel, while Jason and his guys benefit from easy, tool-less, slide-to-lock cabinet assembly.

“Job turn-around is a whole lot quicker and customers love the modern, clean look,” Jason explains. This is especially beneficial for commercial jobs. 3K Solutions recently completed all the cabinetry displays for a large appliance store in Iowa. The client needed the job completed on time for his Grand Opening. Naturally the cabinetry had to look fantastic while blending with and enhancing the functionality of the appliances. The results are pictured and look amazing!

Sidewinder XPR Turns J. Summers Cabinetry into a High Output, High Demand Custom Business

J

acob Summers of San Clemente, California has owned his Sidewinder XPR router by CNC Factory for three years and counting. He operates his one-man, custom cabinet shop for high-end homes and stays mega busy with referrals from home owners and construction companies. In an average month his Sidewinder cuts about 120 sheets--some months much more! Jacob’s Sidewinder helps him produce four to five times more cabinets than before he owned it. “My Sidewinder is perfect for me because I can’t be down,” Jacob explains. “I need my CNC working—it’s like breathing.” The very few times Jacob needed service for his Sidewinder, he called Customer Service at CNC Factory. “They are super easy to talk to and can talk you through most anything,” Jacob says. “They are especially good if you are on the technical level of not knowing anything.”

Jacob says he has been so satisfied with CNC Factory he is looking to buy a second CNC from them in the near future. Contact Jacob Summers at: Jacob@JSummersCabinetry.com

“I chose CNC Factory for their high level of customer service,” Jacob explains. “I have friends that have bought equipment from other CNC companies in the area and they can’t get them to answer the phone.”

CNC Factory’s VIPER XP is an Artisan’s Instrument VIPER XP Cuts Details to Deliver Precise Sound for ElectroPhonic’s Portable Electric Guitars

C

NC Factory’s Viper XP enables ElectroPhonic Innovations to make each EP Model One all-encased, electric guitar with audio and artisan excellence. Each ElectroPhonics Model One sports a sculpted, 24.75” maple neck and fingerboards with 22 frets intoned with precision in a traditional “Paul” style. These guitars play evenly and smoothly across a 12-degree radius up and down the fret board. The dips and curves of the ocean-wave styled body give the inspired signature profile. Three different woods are used on every Model One: a poplar body, maple neck and rosewood fret board.

“It is truly an honor for ElectroPhonic’s team to choose our Viper XP to create these beautiful, melodic instruments,” Chris Corrales, CNC Factory Owner says. ElectroPhonics entrusted the Viper XP to make their guitars after looking at several other CNC companies’ machines. A key factor was the need for the CNC Machine to be able to deliver smooth sculpted contours, exact cuts on different woods milled simultaneously, and an overall skilled craftsman feel. Not only could CNC Factory’s Viper XP handle the intricacies of the workmanship, it could do it in a customized 4ft x 4ft footprint and on a vacuum table with dust collection. CNC Factory’s Viper XP is a nimble, versatile technologically advanced machine. It boasts the smallest footprint in the industry. However, ElectroPhonic Innovations needed an even smaller footprint for their workshop and CNC Factory delivered! Because CNC Factory builds their equipment in Santa Ana, California, most all of their machines can be customized to the unique situations and needs of its customers.

The Viper XP is equipped with a 10HP air cooled spindle and 8-tool, high-speed, tool changer for complex multi tasks. To give ElectroPhonic Innovations maximum precision cutting ability CNC Factory customized their machine to a 10tool changer. This allows the technician to add different sized cuts or even art onto the body of the instruments. The Viper XP can interface with a number of software suites for the most innovative of wood creations. ElectroPhonic Innovations uses SolidWorks with HSM CAD for their guitars which have mazelike cavities inside the casings. These curvy cavities are vital in producing the instrument’s phenomenal, harmonious, singing sounds. The Viper XP is an artisan’s instrument when it comes to cutting intricate, precise shapes and depths, which can make all the difference in a guitar’s tone.

ElectroPhonic Innovations can load materials accurately every time, with the Viper’s built in, pop-up pins and controllable dust hood, built-in machine lubrication system, and zoned vacuum table. Built with a heavy duty design, the VIPER XP also performs with “Precision Cut.” With cutting speeds of over 900 inches per minute and a rapid travel of 1200 inches per minute the VIPER XP sets the pace of production speed.
