Meralco communication initiatives clinch awards December 9, 2010

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) continues on with its streak of excellence as the company received four awards for its communication initiatives and programs in the 2010 Philippine Quill Awards of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines. This year, Meralco’s Corporate Marketing and Communications garnered four Awards of Merit for the Communications Management and Communications Creatives Divisions. External Communications received three Awards of Merit in the Communications Management Division for its communication campaigns for Performance Based Regulation (PBR), the first automated elections and Meralco’s social media efforts. Meralco bagged these awards in the Media Relations, Multi-Audience Communication and Social Media categories. With its entry, “Educating the information gatekeepers on the Performance Based Regulation (PBR),” External Communications recounted its communication initiatives in explaining the intricacies and benefits of PBR to its stakeholders.
