Doing the Most Good Andrew Matson, Staffing This year our corporate team took on a tremendous endeavor – we “adopted” 26 Salvation Army Angel Tree Angels! The 26 angels were divided between each corporate department and we began filling wishes. From toys, games and even simple needs like socks, shoes and blankets – our team worked together to make sure all of our Angels received their Christmas wishes! The Angel Tree also has a special area for the “Forgotten Angels.” This is a section of the Salvation Army that focuses on providing items of need to Angels who were not selected. Jason Barber, our Recruiting Manager, lead the effort to raise donations to purchase winter coats for all of the “Forgotten Angels.” We raised over $2,000 which was used to purchase extra Angel Tree items and an additional 120 coats for the Forgotten Angels! Continuing the spirit of giving, many members of our corporate office volunteered at the Salvation Army during distribution day. Some helped parents to sign-in at the distribution center, others volunteered as “runners,” who were responsible for finding the child’s gifts in the warehouse, and some helped load parents’ cars with their child’s gifts. A big thanks to all who donated and volunteered!

Learning and Leading: The PhysAssist Leadership Conference Mariah Boyce, Implementations

The first PhysAssist Scribes Leadership Conference of 2015 was held just a few weeks ago in mid-January. This bi-annual conference invites Chief Scribes and Lead Trainers from various teams across the country to the PhysAssist corporate office in Fort Worth for two full days of lectures, leadership activities, team building, and an opportunity to meet and interact with the corporate employees with whom they work so closely on a daily basis. There were 36 Chief Scribes and 5 Lead Trainers in attendance, making this our largest conference to date!

Above: Dr. Crowley attendees

ence addresses the confer

The conference speakers included VPs, Directors and Managers from corporate and featured a local physician, Dr. Samuel Crowley, from Texas Presbyterian Rockwall. Dr. Crowley discussed the importance of working hard, setting goals, building relationships, not giving up, and most importantly, having fun. Some of the departmental topics included compliance and legal, sales, marketing, staffing, scheduling, training and facility metrics. The attendees were able to gain insight into the inner workings of the corporate office and develop a better understanding of how the hard work they do every day allows us to serve our clients. The Chiefs and Leads had the opportunity to break out and spend time with their CSMs (Client Services Managers) and PMs (Project Managers), Schedulers, Recruiters, and Time Card Analysts. There were various group activities, such as conflict resolution, effective communication and role-playing scenarios based on conflicts and issues Chiefs and Leads commonly face. They also had an opportunity to talk to each other and share their experiences from their respective roles. The next leadership conference will be held in August 2015.

INTRODUCING OUR ST. LOUIS TEAM! Holly Kennedy- Regional Recruiter Hi! My name is Holly Kennedy, and I’m the local Recruiter for the St. Louis area. I have been with the company since November 2014. As with all of our recruiters, it is my responsibility to screen and hire quality candidates for our teams. Since I’m local, I’m really looking forward to building relationships with our key contacts in the area. I enjoy reading, DIY projects and traveling. My husband and our 8-yearold son really enjoy anything ocean-related and try and get to a coast at least once a year! We also spend a lot of time outdoors when the weather is nice. We like hiking or going to the park with our two dogs. I’m excited about being a part of the PhysAssist team and am looking forward to the upcoming year!

Melanie Planer- Client Services Coordinator Hello! My name is Melanie and I’m the Client Services Manager for Missouri. I’ve been with PhysAssist for four years thus far with most of my tenure being a scribe, trainer (3 years), and Chief (2 years) on our SSM Depaul Health Center team in MO. For the past several months, I have transitioned into the Client Services Coordinator and Manager role where I work closely with the Chief scribes for all of our Missouri teams. My main focus is ensuring that the teams are running well and everyone is happy! Personally, I like to spend my time playing video games, watching TV or movies, going to concerts, or just hanging out with my husband. Last but not least, we have two rescue cats, Bender and Nibbler, who are just the sweetest animals.

Lynley Lovelace- Divisional Training Manager My name is Lynley and I have been with PhysAssist since October of 2010. I started as a scribe and trainer for our Dallas Presbyterian and Plano/Allen team. I then became a CTS, traveling to Milwaukee, St. Louis, Oklahoma City and Eugene. After my CTS deployment, I returned to Texas and began working in the corporate office as a Divisional Training Manager. I’m currently in St. Louis managing training in Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi and Tennessee. I’m also responsible for the matriculation of trainees to PhysAssist Scribe (PS) status. I work closely with the Client Services Managers and Directors to maintain healthy teams and quality scribe programs in each respective region. The best part of my job is attending the team and trainer meetings. I like seeing all of those that made it through training and who are now trainers and leaders on the team. My 7.5 lb miniature dachshund is the love of my life and is what fills up my photo albums in my cell phone. We like to go on walks so she can chase squirrels (she knows these by the name “Squeeky” due to her first toy with a squeeker that was a squirrel). Page 9
