ambi Province with its capital city of Jambi is located in the central part of Sumatra Island, extending from the Bukit Barisan mountain range in the western part of the Sumatra Island to the coastal marshes in the East Facing the Straits of Malacca. The province has several administrative region cosisting of Jambi, Batanghari Regency, Muaro Jambi, Tebo regency, Bungo Regency, Sarolangun Regency, Merangin Regency, Kerinci regency, West Tanjung Jabung Regency and East Tanjung Jabung Regency with a variety of interesting natural tourism objects. Jambi has a wealth of exciting flora and Fauna particularly thoes found in the area of Kerinci Seblat National Park. About 40% of the area ao this magnificent national park is situated in the jambi Province. This park is also the palace where there is the highest mountain in Sumatra, that is mount Kerinci (3,805 meters). It is situated in the border area between Jambi and West Sumatra. The Longest rever in Sumatra, Batang Hari River sist in Jambi. Batang Hari River has its upper reach at Rasam Mount (2585 meters) in West Sumatra. From these mountains the water flow down to form the Batang Hari River with a remarkable twist like a snake as far as 800 km toward the east coast, and then empties into Straits of Malacca.
