Sacramento’s Juneteenth Festival is scheduled for Friday, June 19th through Sunday, June 21st and has always maintained the historical aspects of Juneteenth. There are several events that take place at Juneteenth that are considered historical to the festival. These include but are not limited to; a parade, fashion show, sporting games, dialogue on current issues, and red punch. Sacramento’s Juneteenth Festival is a week-long event. On Thursday there’s a Juneteenth VIP Reception. The reception serves as the mechanism to preserve the history of Juneteenth in California. The reception is attended by many of Sacramento’s politicians and civil servants. The mayor and city council members, members of the California Legislative Black Caucus

At 9:00 A.M. a Freedom Walk to Celebrate 150th Anniversary of Juneteeth will be taking place in College Station Texas. This is a 2.2 mile legacy walk to George Bush Library and Museum, observing the uniquely Texas Holiday, June 19, 1865, which commemorates an official jubilee and ending of slavery in Texas. The 19th of June Community Celebration Committee will be hosting a “Juneteenth Music Festival”at the Five Points, Denver Neighborhoods from Friday, June 19th to Saturday, June 201th.
