HKAC regards the arts and cultural landscape of Hong Kong as a human body from the angle of Chinese medicine which sees it as an ecological system that every organ is connected by nodes and meridians that works in a harmonic way. The Hong Kong art scene, likewise, is a great cultural ecology where art practitioners, institutions and members of the society interact with each other organically and create the ever-flowing stream of creativity. Based on this philosophy, Cultural Masseur is created to turn our participants into active participants of the arts and culture by unblocking their cultural“nodes”and“meridians” within so that they can become“masseurs”of the whole arts and cultural ecology of Hong Kong and promote and enhance the flow of creativity in our city by means of a series of multi-arts programmes that touch on art appreciation, art critique and art making. Time flies and the project finally comes to its finale – the Dragonix Multi-Arts Festival. Just like its sister programmes under Cultural Masseur, the Festival is an audience experience oriented month-long event to excite and inspire all existing and potential audience of the arts. It is also a harvest time to celebrate the 40th anniversary of HKAC, as well as what we’ve yielded in these 1.5 years. On this unique platform, we capture the collective creative effort of professional artists at home and abroad, as well as enthusiastic art learners from workshops in Cultural Masseur. All in all, I must thank various parties, without which Cultural Masseur would not have been possible. She is a sculptor specializing in largescale site-specific works of mixed-media sculptures and installations, which are primarily made with recycled materials such as crate wood, old furniture and umbrella fabric. In 2009, she started a community project in Hong Kong titled “Micro Economy”. Her works often explore issues related to local culture, history, society and current affairs, creating a “breathing space” for audience in between reality and dream.

His projects and collaborations have toured internationally and had been performed around the world in the most renowned venues such as BAM New York, Tinguely Museum Basel, Barbican London or Centquatre Paris.
