What does Circle K mean to YOU!? “To me, Circle K is a way to connect with fellow students who are interested in helping their community and build friendships through that common interest. It also means to collectively improve the community with our combined skills and organization on a scale that would be hard to accomplish as individuals.” Elizabeth Hein ‘17

“The chance to work with and help those in need.” Molly Nash ‘16

“I only joined Circle K to fulfill my Community Service Requirement. But I’ve actually gotten a lot more out of it than I ever expected!” Anonymous

Project of the Month:

Operation Christmas Child Wrapping & Packing Parties By Michaela Johnson ’17 Operation Christmas Child is an annual event that is held on campus through Christian Fellowship. Each year, the campus aims to pack shoeboxes filled with school supplies, hygiene items, and small toys that will be sent to children in need. These boxes give children a Christmas that they would not otherwise have. Throughout the beginning of the term, Operation Christmas Child collected donations from students and faculty on campus. Circle K took part in collecting donations, as well as creating Christmas cards for the boxes. The Wrapping Party was then held on November 1st in the Dining Hall. During that time, volunteers constructed and wrapped the boxes, packed candy bags, and wrote more Christmas cards! Then, on November 15th, the Annual Packing Party was held in Stephans Lounge. There, volunteers packed the boxes, enjoyed some refreshments, and were serenaded by the Chiclettes! This year, Elmira College Operation Christmas Child had a goal of packing 850 boxes…and we did it! Through the help of many volunteers, including over twenty from Circle K, we packed 878 shoeboxes! So, on behalf of the Elmira College Operation Christmas Child Committee…THANK YOU! You have truly blessed the lives of children! Be on the lookout for information about OCC 2015!
