Theory Reliability Instruments for measuring reading motivation are based on separate and relatively well-established constructs in reading motivation: Competence beliefs and goal orientation. The concept of goal orientation consists of: task orientation, social dependence orientation and ego defensive orientation (Lepola et al., 2005; Nurmi & Aunola, 2005).
