PROFESSIONAL POSITION

The successful candidate will focus on coordinating, and guiding the efforts of the leadership team, set a standard for transparency, enhanced communication, and assure consistency of priorities and goals throughout the organization.

The COO is responsible for carrying out the vision and policies of the Board of Directors who serves as the direct report. Applicants should demonstrate supervisory and leadership abilities in their submission. Prior management experience is required including financial accountability, recruiting, and team building. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, Master’s Degree desirable. The candidate must be certified by NIMS or can do so within one year of hire.

The salary range is $120,000 to $130,000 with an excellent benefit package; exact salary will depend on qualifications/experience.

Lehigh Valley Health Network Expands Access to Cancer Care in Pocono Region with New Physicians

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is expanding access to cancer care in the Pocono region with the addition of two new physicians

Dan Popescu, MD, is returning to LVHN and will join the world-class team providing leading-edge cancer care at Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute. Dr. Popescu is board-certified and fellowship-trained in hematology and medical oncology, and previously provided care through Lehigh Valley Physicians Group (LVPG). Dr. Popescu graduated from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy and completed his residency at Pinnacle Health System. He earned his fellowship in hematology and oncology from Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He will treat a wide range of cancer types with a focus on patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Popescu will provide care at Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center in Monroe County Learn more about Dr. Popescu here

Bogdan Protyniak, MD, a board-certified and fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon, will primarily serve patients in the Pocono region Dr Protyniak earned his fellowship from University of Louisville and completed his residency in surgery at Monmouth Medical Center.

Dr. Protyniak treats all colorectal diseases including colorectal cancer and anal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and diverticulitis. He has a particular interest in robotic and laparoscopic surgery, which is less invasive and associated with better patient outcomes including minimal pain and faster recovery In addition, Dr Protyniak performs colonoscopies and treats benign anorectal conditions including hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulae and pilonidal disease
