STORY IDEAS AND COMMENTS

abe Ruth said, “The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime.” Over the last four months, I’ve had occasion to watch Team Warner Robins at work planning the International Festival. The goal—come together to build a spirit of community while raising funds to renovate the deteriorating area of Warner Robins. Volunteers have banded together, pooling their time and talents to bring this vision to reality. But, team DDA has a long way to go when it comes to working as a team. Many of the DDA’s members have been AWOL for most of the planning meetings and absent for all of the physical work of the festival. In fact, on more than one occasion I heard a DDA member comment that she only committed to attend one meeting per month and that the DDA didn’t need to raise money anyway. With an attitude like that is it any wonder that Commercial Circle is crumbling before our eyes? Others of the DDA pop in from time to time trying to stir up trouble by grilling volunteers in a disrespectful manner that could only lead one to surmise that their goal is to derail the event entirely. And then there are those who have been missing in action only to show up for their photo op or 15 minutes of fame, trying to benefit from the hard work of others. These same apathetic players would rather sit in the dugout, sabotaging those who are actually playing a fair game. As the festival

approaches, I want to take a moment to thank the DDA members who, by the way, are not City employees for their sacrifice and commitment to bringing a much needed event to our city. Over the last 5 months, I’ve observed four committed DDA members spend countless hours away from their own businesses planning for October 1st; at considerable expense to their business: some have paid for items out of their own pockets; some have worked from their hospital bed. And it’s not just the DDA who have made sacrifices to bring this event to downtown Warner Robins. A handful of committed citizens have diligently sacrificed time, gas, and money to help fill the void created by the absent DDA members. Robins Air Force Base personnel understand the importance of teamwork to the point where even they are supporting the International City Festival. They know that Commercial Circle is the “front porch” to the base and they are excited to be part of giving it a facelift and attracting more business. As I watch the sacrifice of a few for the benefit of many, I have to ask: why are our community members working harder than many of the City officials or DDA board members? It’s time to bench the unwilling DDA players and send in some utility players who are willing to fill whatever position needs to be played. It’s time for the City of Warner Robins to function as a team; cheer each other on; lend a helping hand. Without a team spirit, Warner Robins will never win.

riginally located in what was known as the Annex Auditorium (now the home to HCBOE), the Perry Players also performed at Sally Stanley’s Dance Studio (currently Kids of America) and currently call the old Union Motor Company building Sep. 30 – Oct 1, home. Although the location has changed and members Oct. 5 – Oct. 8 have come and gone, one thing remains the same… the 7:30 p.m. Players have been delighting audiences for thirty years. In celebration of their 30 year anniversary, the Players Oct. 2 & 9 2:30 p.m. are reviving the original play , Arsenic and Old Lace (the first play of their first season), opens tonight at 7:30. “Our original plan for this season was to present all of the productions of our first season,” said Jane Winston. “Instead, we will present Christmas Belles; Sex Please, We’re Sixty and the Odd Couple.” With a cast of 14 ranging in age from 22 - 72, Arsenic and Old Lace is a comedy laced with issues of a young man in love and his two murderous spinster aunts. “The sets are fantastic and were all built by volunteers,” said Winston. The Players make each production look effortless, but each production requires the labor of many volunteers. “We are like the Energizer Bunny,” Winston said, we never stop ticking. When one play ends we immediately start working on the next one.” Auditions for Christmas Bells will be held on Oct. 10 and 11 and the Players welcome anyone with an interest in the theatre to come out. Those of you who don’t want to be on stage can find plenty to do behind the scenes: set building, costumes, makeup. “We have quite a few new people,” said Winston, “but we would love to have more people join us. You don’t need experience, we provide it.” Arsenic and Old Lace is directed by Michael Qualls and Produce by Beverly Cooper. The play runs through October 9. CITY SCENE

The Faces of the International City Festival

fter months of planning, the International City Festival has finally arrived. Tomorrow, Commercial Circle will be bustling with crafters, food vendors, bouncy houses, face painting and live music; North Davis Drive hosts the Fish-ARama, Cruise In, Poker Run and even more vendors. The event is a labor of love, powered entirely by volunteers whose mission is to unite the city. If there is one thing entrepreneurial innovator and powerhouse behind the International City Festival, Gena DeBoe knows how to do, it is inspire. When recruiting and organizing volunteers and vendors she has been steadfast and as determined as a person can be. Going so far as to hold meetings with the festival board members from a hospital bed during recovery from an illness, she has not lost sight of what this festival means to all of those who participate. Armed with an ironclad sense of responsibility to her cause, she was soliciting donations and recruiting nurses to pass out fliers before she was out of the ER. It is this same tireless force of will that encouraged so many sponsors, volunteers, and vendors to participate in a festival that has been ten years in the making. But Gena isn’t one to overlook the contributions of the many people it took to make this festival a reality. “So many people have worked so many hours to see this happen for our town.” A specific example that she cites are the efforts of Carolyn Mitchell, the first vendor to sign on with the festival, on the 28th of June 2011.Gena emphasizes that “We could have never done it without her!” Mitchell is not new to the world of volunteering. You can often find her at Robins Air Force Base organizing luncheons and giving her time to help wherever she can. An entrepreneurial kindred spirit of Gena’s ilk, she prepares cakes, jam, and jellies and runs a concessions and catering business by the name of Amazing Grace. Nor is this her first time working a festival. “The last festival I worked at was the Strawberry Festival in

A

Reynold’s” she said as she folded her laundry during our conversation. A humble soul, her involvement was based on the concern she has for our community. “We should be having a festival. I think it’ll be a good event to bring families together. We are a small town, and all of the other small towns around us have festivals that their community can be proud of. We need one.” Sandy Mariacher, a local Scentsy vendor, signed on to organize the Fish-A-Rama. Together with a Bass pro who will be on hand for any questions, they will help children and adults practice their cast and reel them in. “I just want to say, you gotta throw them back!” she joked when I spoke with her. “We can’t have a bunch of annoyed parents walking around with bags of fish!” She was recruited through Gena’s husband who is a fellow fisherman and has been on board since the inception of the International City Festival idea. She states matter-of-factly, “I want this festival to bring more awareness to the community of Warner Robins. I want them to know how much their downtown needs them and how we can do better than this.” Along with her contact at Robins Air Force Base, Chief Bowen, Natalie Greene of N.J. Greene Designs, Greg Phillips of New Hope International, the Houston Arts Alliance, and the Fine Arts Society, to name just a few, Gena promotes and encourages the community to support the International City Festival project in this effort to “clean up the RAFB front porch” and build up the spirit of Warner Robins. The festival takes place on October 1 from 9 – 6 p.m. with free admittance. A small donation is required to fish at the children’s Fish-A-Rama, bring your fishing pole! Music is presented on two sound stages, bring your lawn chair or blanket. For more information, visit www.wrdda.org/festival or find them on Facebook. RACHEL HELIE 11thHourOnline.com 5

FLOCO AND JUBEE... TWO LOCAL MUSICIANS YOU’LL WANT TO GET TO KNOW Middle Georgia has had its fair share of emerging hip-hop artists over the years.

06

SEPT 30 - OCT 14, 2011

PHOTO David Fortner

Young Jeezy, the Macon-viaHawkinsville rapper is the first that comes to mind for most people when discussing the area's talent. Though he wasn't a resident of the city, the rapper spent the earlier portion of his career in Macon before moving on to Atlanta to further pursue his talents. Artists like Kadalack Boyz or Sonny Spoon might come to mind as well for their own accomplishments but to my knowledge, the people of Middle GA have never really had a true representative in the "House of HipHop". Turns out, we now have two. Catch these two right If you've been to Downtown Macon here in Warner Robins. in the past four years, you've probably Floco Torres, on the left, heard people talk about "Floco Torres" or takes the stage at the "Jubee". The two men have had their International City Festival, share of the spotlight in Macon but both Jubee plays Friends on the Hill on Oct. 14. realized that their success would quickly reach a peak and then subsided unless they took alternative measures. "You've got to push past the Downtown crowd if you want to go INTERNATIONAL CITY FESTIVAL anywhere. They're a great group, they're my family, but you aren't making progress when the same group of peoLIVE MUSIC SCHEDULE ple comes to see you every time you play. Don't get me Saturday, Oct 1 (9am-6pm) wrong, I love it, but we all want to succeed ", said Commercial Circle - Warner Robins Williams. Following their recent accomplishments, it seems that they're both headed in the right direction. STAGE 1 Floco was recently announced the winner of a competi2PM: All for Nothing - Warner Robins tion put on by Gateway Macon, a non-profit community Pop/Punk Alternative collaboration of 30+ organizations that are collectively promoting Macon’s creative edge, uncommon spaces, 3PM: Louise Warren - Macon and unique opportunities. Jubee and his band (Jubee & Singer/Songwriter - Alternative/Pop/Rock The Morning After) spent last week in Seattle opening a show for internationally known artist Pitbull after win4PM: 2 Finger Jester - Warner Robins - Voted ning a contest put on by Samsung & ABC. The band’s The 11th Hour Readers Choice--Cover Band performance from the show will be featured on Late of The Year 2008-2009-2010 Night with Jimmy Kimmel in October. I met with Floco one evening this past week to 5PM: Corruption - Macon, Rock/Heavy catch up on all he’s been doing the past few months. I felt a bit strange having to formally interview someone I STAGE 2 consider a good friend but I was eager to get the full 9:30AM: Wellston Winds - A community band story from him so we made it work. Born and raised in made of local band directors, music teachers, New Jersey, he moved to Atlanta following high school and other musicians who enjoy playing conto pursue an internship with Columbia Records that cert band music together. ended up falling through. After calling his Grandmother 11AM: Gasoline Bros. who lived in Macon, he made the drive and started the Atlanta next portion of his life here. “When you’re a young artist of any kind and you’re in a new city, if you want to be 12PM: The Vineyard heard you have to get out and show people what you’re 1PM: Joey Stuckey capable of. With the help of Chris Horne, Doski Wo and Macon - An award-winthe new friends I’d made, I just started writing, recordning blind guitarist, songing, and socializing to the fullest extent. The Gateway Macon Music competition was held for the 2PM: Double Barrell - Cochran - Classic purpose of finding an artist whose music exemplifies the Rock, Blues, Country creative spirit of the city. Floco had previously been a spokesperson for 3PM: Southern Persuasion - Country classics, Gateway’s initial campaigns and had worked with them group boasts two Atlanta Country Music Hall for press purposes but said he wasn’t really interested of Fame members when they announced the competition. “I realized after a while that I was being the person that I hate in Macon. 4PM: Floco Torres, Macon, Winner of 2 Indie This amazing opportunity has presented itself for me and Awards & $25,000 Gateway Macon Music all I have to do is a bit of hard work and I stand a chance Competition at succeeding with it. I wasn’t going to let that pass me by.” Despite the hefty prize package offered ($25,000 5PM: Homeless Hill - Macon - a dynamic worth of studio, video, and production time), Floco was original rock band the only artist from Macon who officially entered the competition. “I’m not saying this to boast, only to tell

you how amazing this whole experience has been for me, but I sat down with GMan (his producer) the night before the competition deadline and wrote and recorded the song that ended up winning the competition for me. That’s not to say that I didn’t put my heart and my love for this town into that song but that the things I wanted to say just all came out.” The song, titled “Cherry Street (Downtown)”, pays homage to the motley crew that makes up Downtown Macon. “If anything, this song shows how aware I am of where I am. There are all these different parts to what makes this city what it is and I think the song is a reflection of how those pieces fit together.” When I asked Floco what line from his song stood at the most to him, he laughed for a moment, composed himself and told me: “We kicked out scam entertainment groups / and it’s hot, you’ll need something to change into / We’ve got a real bookstore where I go to get my knowledge / But I’m really talking to girls from Mercer College.” Floco said, “I’m not trying to confuse anyone. This isn’t a song that I thought about for months and months. It was exactly what I felt at the time I recorded it and it’s all because of the last four years.” Floco will be working with Grammy-nominated artist Steve Moretti and a crew of other producers in the next few weeks on a three song EP, an official video for the song and a series of photos used for the Gateway marketing initiative. Jubee shares a somewhat similar story with Williams. The Brooklyn native moved to South Carolina under his Grandmother’s care as a young child. His mother passed away when he was a baby and his father wasn’t present growing up. After pursuing a job opportunity that relocated him to Macon, he did just as Floco did and started writing with new friends. After spending some years with a hip-hop/rock group called City Council, Jubee took some time away from the social scene to focus on his new family life. “I’d just had this kid. The timing of it all has so much to do with where I am at right now. I spent the time at home with my family just... living. I was writing and as time passed, I had this sound in my head that I wanted to get out.” With the help of friends Alex Scarborough and Danny Davis, Jubee began developing the technique he wanted to utilize. Eventually, a full band formed and the real progress began for the group. Barely a year has passed since their first official show together. The five-piece (Jubee – vocals, Alex Scarborough – drums, Danny Davis – bass/vocals, Alec Stanley – guitar/vocals, and newest member Adam Cress – keyboard) hit the ground running and their diligent work ethic has started to pay off. “We’ve played more shows in the past year than I can really remember. We started in Macon; something like every weekend somewhere else and then worked our way into Savannah and Atlanta. Macon is what we hit the hardest though and it really shows”, said Jubee during our interview. Following my interview with Floco, I sat down with him and Adam to talk about the band winning an online contest that took them all the way to Seattle, Washington for a packed out show at the Paramont Theatre opening for Pitbull and a segment on Jimmy Kimmel. “A friend in New York sent me a link to a website for upcoming artists. We set up an EPK and joined the site and just sort of sat on it. We we’re automatically entered for the contest through the website we registered for but we didn’t pay much attention to it. PERFECT PEAR - A PERFECT MIDDAY TREAT

I

felt as though I had stepped back in time as I lunched at the Perfect Pear on Carroll Street in downtown Perry. Because I was alone, the hostess sat me at a table near her so she could keep me company; it was draped with a white linen tablecloth accompanied by a white cloth napkin, goblet of water and condiments. The trees lining the street cast delightful shadows on the tables outside that beckoned diners to eat alfresco. Families, friends, and even business men greeted each newcomer who entered the shop. Everyone knew each other and, it seemed, everyone was genuinely happy in this quaint dining room. And why not? We were being treated like royalty and eating dishes fit for a king. The presentation of each dish was as refreshing as the food itself; pimento cheese and Lavash (a type of flat bread) resembling a skyscraper; sandwiches artfully placed on the plate; desserts looking like fine art. Altogether, the atmosphere and impecca-

bly garnished dishes provide a respite to the weary work day. The lunch menu is quite robust, offering appetizers, salads, sandwiches, veggie plates, and desserts. The portions are large and prices are reasonable at less than $10. Unique variations of standard lunch fare keep diners returning to try something new. Mediterranean Salad, Tarragon Scented Shrimp Salad, and Marjie’s Chicken Salad Salad are served with the chef’s own special dressings. Turkey Bacon and Ranch Panini, Shrimp Po Boy, and the Cali Club are a few fan favorite sandwiches. The Mile High Club really seemed to be a mile high as I tried to consume the entire thing in one sitting…sad to say, I am NOT a member of the Mile High Club since I took half home in a box! Save room for dessert at all costs. The chocolate crème brûlée, aka burnt cream, is absolutely divine. Rich, cool, chocolate custard hidden beneath a crusty caramelized topping, plated with whipped cream and raspberries was the perfect end to a delightful meal; I left the shop in a much better mood. And if you are planning a special event, The Perfect Pear caters. Megan Wilson, owner and chef, is gifted in the culinary arts and takes great pride in each meal she prepares. Weddings, dinner parties, corporate affairs are just a few occasions for which she creates her masterpiece fare. If you move fast, you might just be able to book her for your Christmas party! Lunch is served Monday – Wednesday from 11 – 2 p.m. Reservations are not required; however, if you have a large party, you may want to call ahead so they can set up for you. THE MOTIVATING YOUTH FOUNDATION WILL RAFFLE A 2012 CAMARO - JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS

T

he Motivating Youth Foundation (MOYO) founder and Executive Director, Roger Jackson, is passionate about providing youth with college scholarships. “I would like to provide 50 – 100 kids a year with scholarships to the college of their choice,” he said. Jackson has teamed up with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity to raise funds for the Motivating Youth Foundation Scholarship Fund and the Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Fund. On December 21, 2011 at 2pm at the Family Investment Center located at 905 Main Street in Macon, MOYO will raffle a 2012 Camaro (compliments of Youman’s Chevrolet in Macon, Georgia), just in time for Christmas for the lucky ticket holder. The drawing also includes a $1,500 gift card; a $1,000 gift card and a $500 gift card (all compliments of Ken’s Audio in Macon) and an Acer laptop computer. Tickets will be sold beginning on September 29, 2011 and will continue until 1pm on December 21, 2011. Tickets for the raffle are $20 each and there is no limit to the number of tickets an individual can purchase. All proceeds will benefit the Motivating Youth Foundation Scholarship Fund and the Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Fund. Jackson said, “With this raffle, the lucky winners get a wonderful Christmas gift for themselves or a loved one and those who don’t win are assured that, for the price of one dinner out, they have helped a local youth realize the dream of college.” Tickets can be purchased at or www.moyofoundation.com, where you can find more information about the raffle and the Motivating Youth Foundation. Tickets will also be available at the following locations: BB&T - Macon Mall, Youman's Chevrolet, Ken's Audio (Macon & Warner Robins). As a former NFL professional football player, Roger Jackson is committed to using his resources to positively influence the lives of youth in middle Georgia. Jackson founded the nonprofit 501(c)3 Motivating Youth Foundation in 2008 and the After School Program opened its doors in 2009. The program provides opportunities for youth to excel in school through hands-on tutoring, online tutoring, motivation, rap sessions, characterbuilding and one-on-one and group mentoring through social and athletic field trips. Located at 905 Main Street in Macon, Georgia, the after school program is open from 3pm -- 6pm during the school year and from 7am -- 7pm during the summer months. For more information, visit the website, MoyoFoundation.com, or call (478) 752-5185.

Pictured above are some of the winners from the Motivating Youth Foundations first raffle in June. The grand prize went to Katie Harris of Villa Rica. She received a check for $8,348.89. The same amount went to the Motivating Youth scholarship fund, Jackson said. Also pictured is Linda Harris who took home the 4th place prize, a check for $1000. The MoYo Foundation’s first raffle was a grand task, hoping to sell 20,000 tickets at $100 each, and giving away a grand prize of a million dollar dream home (donated and located in Gray, GA). “We couldn’t give away a $1.1 million house and sell only two tickets. The rules were that we had to sell 20,000 tickets in order to give away the house. We did not meet that goal,” said Macon native and former Denver Bronco Roger Jackson. During the eight-month raffle period, they sold 583 tickets. The foundation hopes that with the cheaper ticket price, it will be easier for the public to support this new raffle and his afterschool program in East Macon, where public school funds for such programs has dried up.

FBI visits Perry Middle School Agent Clark with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) visited Diana Phillips' computer class at Perry Middle School on Sept. 2. He spoke to the students about necessary job skills, critical choices and how they will affect you in the future, and what qualities are necessary to work as an FBI agent. Students were shown pictures of some of Agent Clark's missions and exploits throughout his years as an agent. As their interests were peaked, students provided a steady flow of questions. Before students left the classroom, he gave each one a flyer that provided them with the Bureau's Web site where they could research more information if they so desired.

HCBOE offers free computer classes The Houston County Board of Education offers adults free basic computer classes, which are taught by employees and students. The current class is taking place at Northside High. Fifty adult students, three instructors, and 20 Northside High students representing FBLA, JROTC, and BETA Club took part the first week. Student volunteers Sarah Currier (pictured) and Trey Payne assist participants. To register for a

hat’s a good question, especially at a time when our local government doesn’t look as if it’s working. City hall appears not to be delivering its promises of practicing transparency and integrity. Our so called leaders are too busy keeping “secrets” and playing politics instead of behaving like true public servants. There is a lack of any sense that things are going to get better and, in fact, signs hint that they may get worse before it gets better. With this in mind, candidates come and candidates go. Elections are won and lost. Sometimes we elect crooks and unknowns BUT, every once in awhile, we elect a true public servant who demonstrates his or her abilities to accomplish goals that benefit ALL citizens and not just a select few AND does it all WITHOUT fanfare. It matters that you vote. It is your voice – and the only person who can silence your voice is you. So applaud, criticize, protest, march, petition – these are your rights. Our ancestors fought for these rights, be smart and use them to help make the necessary changes needed to have a local government that is more transparent and considerate to community as a whole. The last day to register is 30 days prior to an election. ELECTION DAY is Tuesday, November 8, 2011. See YOU at the polls! The issues matter, you need to help make the decisions, especially the ones in your backyardeducate yourselves on what is happening here in your town. Get to know the candidates; attend council meetings to learn about the local issues that will be on the ballot.

How do I register to vote? You must complete a voter registration application, obtained: • Online at sos.georgia.gov/elections. • From the Secretary of State’s Elections Division at (404) 656-2871, or the Secretary of State’s toll-free Voter Information Hotline at (888) 265-1115. • You may also contact the Elections Division by facsimile at (404) 651-9531. • From your county registrar’s office. www.houstoncountyga.com/residents/board-of-elections/ • Can my registration expire? Yes, if you change your place of residence or if you have not voted in three or more years. For more information, go to sos.georgia.gov/elections. Or www.houstoncountyga.com/residents We want to hear what your questions, concerns, and ideas are that impact Houston County. Find us on Facebook as Coalition of Concerned Citizens Houston County.

t was the kind of thing that you never think you’ll win, so we didn’t see much point in promoting it”, said Jubee. As the deadline drew nearer, the band began to realize that there was actually the potential to wind up in the Top Ten for the contest. Through a massive social networking campaign, the final twentyfour hours of the contest saw the band advancing more than fifteen spots. “Our fans, especially everyone in Macon that has been a part of our family is the sole reason we made it out to Seattle. We work hard and we write music that we like. Somewhere along the road, other people started liking it and they’ve shown us nothing but love ever since”, said Alec Stanley in a short phone interview. The band played a three song set to over 3,500 people at the historic Paramont Theatre before headliner Pitbull came on stage. Throughout the summer,

Samsung has hosted multiple contests allowing artists the chance to open for a nationally known act at a free show. The Seattle show was the final of the summer series. “We played “On”(the single from the album – check out the amazing music video for it), “Whatcha Made Of” and “Weather”. Three songs, that was it but I think for the most part people were really into us. We got a great response from the crowd. It was pretty cool, there was a giant screen next to the stage and people’s Twitter posts about the show were shown the whole time, so we could see what people had to say”. Though I spent more than 45 minutes talking with Jubee and Adam, and 20 more between phone calls, the one thing that stuck out the most was that everyone in the band had the exact same thing to say to summarize the experience. “It was just an incredible moment, standing in a green room in a 4000 capacity theater in Seattle,

SCENE Washington talking to ABC’s staff that enjoyed us enough to fly us across the country to open for Pitbull and realizing that not only did they put their reputation on the line by selecting us as the winners, but that on the other side of the country in this small city in Georgia, there is a group of people that believed in us enough to make this all possible. Thank you so much to our friends, family, and each person that has been a part of making this reality. I’m speaking for everyone in the band when I say this”, said Jubee. “Thank you all for everything.” Make sure to watch the band’s performance from the Seattle show on Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel on October 10th on ABC. Between these two artists and the steadily flourishing music and arts scene in Middle Georgia, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not long before other ’s gain national attention for their creative efforts. SEAN PRITCHARD

WEDNESDAY, 10/5 JJ GREY & MOFRO With opening act Whitney Morgan & the 78s JJ Grey and his band Mofro exude rocking, funky, melodic, front porch realism in every song they play. Grey is influenced by the sexually charged blues of Howlin’ Wolf, the country soul of George Jones and the hard funk of James Brown, as well as local personalities like street preachers and radio DJs.

Five pieces strong with three part harmony and able to cover everything from the Eagles to Kid Rock to Nickleback to Daightrey to Jason Aldean. These Warner Robins natives are seasoned musicians who also play some of their own original music. Check them out.

JuBee and the Morning After features the magnetic vocal delivery of JuBee, a rapper that provides "deep, emotion-filled lyrical creations" (Savannah Urban Arts Festival), and a slew of musicians with accolades of their own right. The rhythm section is comprised of Danny Davis (bass, backing vocals) and Alex Scarborough (drums) whom hail from Athens, Ga based R&B conglomerate Dope John Paul. Alec Stanley (guitar, backing vocals) and Chelsea Hughes (keys) are both singer/songwriters from Macon, Ga. Influenced by the transparent honesty of Hip-Hop fundamentals and the energetic groove of 1970’s funk and R&B, JuBee and the Morning After is an eclectic blend of Indie Rock, Hip-Hop, throwback Funk, and look forward soulful southern Rap. Its so good that the hipsters might shed the hoodies and wish they could dance. With dozens of mixtapes under his belt, a fresh new EP and LP in 2011, and having shared the spotlight with Gym Class Heroes (Fueled by Ramen), Yelawolf (Interscope), Cartel (Epic), REHAB (Epic), JuBee and his team have the experience and the drive to bring a party so hard that fans will never forget. **And don’t miss seeing him perform on national television, where he played to a packed out show at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, opening for Pitbull and a segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live, October 10th.
