A great Evening of celebration. Saturday Feb 8, 2014. Special Banquet prepared by Dan Snyder. A special concert by Aric Phinney and the Co. Mark your calendars PRAISE AND PRAYER Praise God for: Praise the Lord for the life and witness of Mrs. Thelma Irene Boyer. She went to be with Jesus on the 28th of December 2013. She was 94 years old. She loved the Lord and loved life. She loved our church. She was faithful and and was blessed with a heart of a servant. Her husband Charles had gone to be with the Lord in 1997. Mrs Boyer was a great blessing to those who knew her and were linked with her through Jesus our Lord. She lived in her own home all these years. She attended the Christmas part of the young at heart with much joy. She has said good night here and has said good morning up there. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15 To God be the glory, great is His faithfulness. Praise the Lord for the year 2013. The Lord of the Church has blessed us abundantly as a church. Praise the Lord for your stewardship and faithfulness. The total giving for the year was $252,928.75. Out of this generous giving, $113,476.75 was designated giving. This special giving was designated for various mission projects, both local and global. The new addition to the church has been completely paid for. The elevator has also been completely paid for. It is a big thank you to Jesus, our Lord, for His generosity. May the Lord continue to bless us as we continue to love and serve Him. May He meet all our needs according to the riches of His glory. I Chronicles 29:9-16, 20 states, "Then the people rejoiced because these had given willingly, for with a whole heart they had offered freely to the Lord; David the king also rejoiced greatly. Therefore David blessed the Lord in the presence of all the assemble; and David said: 'Blessed art thou, O Lord, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from thee, and thou rulest over all. In thy hand are power and might; and in thy hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank thee, our God, and praise thy glorious name. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from thee, and of they own have we given thee. For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no abiding. O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building thee a house for thy holy name comes from thy hand and is all thy own.' Then David said to all the assembly, 'Bless the Lord your God.' And all the assembly blessed the Lord, the God of their fathers, and bowed their heads, and worshiped the Lord." Jan.5,2014 ucumc

UNISON PRAYER: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

UNISON PRAYER: I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt; put me to doing, put me to suffering; let me be employed for thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee; let me be full , let me be empty; let me have all things, let me have nothing; I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, thou art mine and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth , let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.

INVITATION: Pastor: Ye that do truly and earnestly repent of your sins, and are in love and charity with your neighbors, and intend to lead a new life, following the commandments of God, and walking from henceforth in His holy ways: Draw near with faith, and take this holy Sacrament to your comfort, and make your humble confession to almighty God.

Nursery is available for both services – ask an usher for information

CONFESSION: Let us now examine ourselves before God, humbly confess our sins and watching our hearts, lest by self-deceit we shut ourselves out from his presence, Let us pray. O God our Father, who hast set forth the way of life for us in thy beloved Son: we confess with shame our slowness to learn of him, our reluctance to follow him. Thou has spoken and called, and we have not given heed; thy beauty hast shown forth, and we have been blind; thou hast stretched out thy hands to us through our fellows, and we have passed by. We have taken great benefits with little thanks; we have been unworthy of they changeless love. Have mercy upon us and forgive us, O Lord. Forgive us, we beseech thee, the poverty of our worship, the formality and selfishness of our prayers, our inconstancy and unbelief, our neglect of fellowship and of the means of grace, our hesitating witness for Christ, our false pretenses, and our willful ignorance of thy ways. Have mercy upon us and forgive us, O Lord. Forgive us wherein we have wasted our time or misused our gifts. Forgive us where in we have excused our own wrongdoing or evaded our responsibilities. Forgive us that we have been unwilling to overcome evil with good, that we have drawn back from them the cross. Have mercy upon us and forgive us, O Lord. Forgive us that so little of thy love hath reached others through us, and that we have borne so lightly wrongs and sufferings that were not our own. Forgive us wherein we have cherished the things that divide us from others, and wherein we have made it hard for them to live us with, and wherein we have been thoughtless in our judgments, hasty in condemnation, grudging in forgiveness. Have mercy upon us and forgive us, O Lord. If we have made no ventures in fellowship, if we have kept in our hear a grievance against another, if we have not sought reconciliation, if we have been eager for the punishment of wrongdoers and slow to seek their redemption;, Have mercy upon us and forgive us, O Lord. Let us each in silence make confession to God…………

DISTRIBUTION OF THE ELEMENTS: PRAYER OF CONSECRATION: “O Lord, our heavenly Father, we, Thy humble servants, desire Thy fatherly goodness mercifully to accept this our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving; most humbly beseeching Thee to grant, that, by the merits and death of Thy Son Jesus Christ, and through faith in His blood, we and Thy whole Church may obtain forgiveness of our sins, and all other benefits of His passion. And here we offer and present unto Thee, O Lord, ourselves, our souls and bodies, to be a reasonable, holy, and lively sacrifice unto Thee; humbly beseeching Thee that all we who are partakers of this Holy Communion may be filled with Thy grace and heavenly benediction. And although we be unworthy, through our manifold sins, to offer unto Thee any sacrifice, yet we beseech Thee to accept this our bounden duty and service, not weighing our merits, but pardoning our offenses; through Jesus Christ our Lord, by whom, and with whom, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honor and glory be unto Thee, O Father Almighty, world without end. Amen.” *HYMN OF INVITATION:

BENEDICTION: May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May He look upon you with favor and give you peace. Amen.

*ALLELUIA *BENEDICTION *POSTLUDE You’re welcome to come to the altar if you’d like prayer for yourself or for others. You may want to rededicate yourself to the Lord or to make a first time commitment to Christ. A prayer warrior will gladly meet you at the altar to pray for you.

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness; according to the multitude of they tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity , and cleanse me from my sin. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Amen. This is the message we have heard from him, and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. PRAYER FOR PARDON: Pastor: Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who of Thy great mercy hast promised forgiveness of sins to all them that with hearty repentance and true faith turn to Thee; Have mercy upon us; pardon and deliver us from all our sins; confirm and strengthen us in all goodness; and bring us to everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. WORDS OF ASSURANCE: Leader: Hear what comfortable words the Scriptures say to all that truly turn to the Lord: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 If anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He is the expiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:1-2 COMMUNION SERVICE: Leader: Lift up your hearts. People:

We lift them up to the Lord.

Leader:

Let us give thanks unto the Lord.

People:

It is meet and right so to do.

Jan.5,2014 ucumc

Leader: It is very meet, right, and our bounden duty that we should at all times and in all places give thanks unto Thee, O Lord, holy Father, almighty, everlasting God. Therefore with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we laud and magnify Thy glorious name, evermore praising Thee, and saying: People: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts: Heaven and earth are full of Thy glory! Glory be to Thee, O Lord most high! Amen. Leader: Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who of Thy tender mercy gave Thine only Son Jesus Christ to suffer death upon the Cross for our redemption; who made there, by the one offering of Himself, a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world; and did institute, and in His holy Gospel command us to continue, a perpetual memory of His precious death until His coming again: Hear us, O merciful Father, we most humbly beseech Thee, and grant that we, receiving these Thy creatures of bread and wine, according to Thy Son our Savior Jesus Christ’s holy institution, in remembrance of His passion, death, and resurrection, may be partakers of the divine nature through Him: Who in the same night that He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying, Take eat; this is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me. Likewise after supper He took the cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of this; for this is My blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins; do this, as oft as ye shall drink it, in remembrance of Me. Amen. All: We do not presume to come to this Thy table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in Thy manifold and great mercies. We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under Thy table. But Thou art the same Lord, whose property is always to have mercy. Grant us therefore, gracious Lord, so to partake of this Sacrament of Thy Son Jesus Christ that we may walk in newness of life, may grow into His likeness, and may evermore dwell in Him, and He in us. Amen. O Lamb of God, that takes away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us. O Lamb of God, that takes away the sins of the world, grant us Thy peace.
