Catholic Aid wants to send U to World Youth Day!!! Aug. 15-21, 2011
Catholic Aid Association encourages young Catholics to explore their faith and other cultures by offering 60 scholarships in the amount of $500 each to CAA members who plan to attend World Youth Day 2011. Initiated by Pope John Paul II in 1986, World Youth Day is a youth-oriented Roman Catholic event that brings young pilgrims around the globe together to celebrate faith, to serve and to learn. While the event itself celebrates the Catholic faith, the invitation to attend is nondenominational. All eligible CAA members who apply by the deadline will be considered. Scholarships will be awarded by a lottery-style drawing.
Scholarships are available to members • Who joined CAA by Aug. 15, 2010 or earlier • Who are between the ages of 16-35 • Who are traveling with a parish, diocese or group
To qualify for a scholarship • Submit the application by Nov. 1, 2010 • Write essays before and after the trip, according to guidelines on application
