Gabber.org: Alternative news hub. www.thegabber.org This site is run by a group of volunteers, mainly based in the UK. It aims to provide a platform for voluntary organisations, political groups and others not generally given a voice in the main stream media to reach a wider audience. It aggregates headlines, stories and videos from a range of resources. The site includes a large collection of materials on politics and activism in the UK )offering a large section on anti-student cuts protests) plus links to activitism resources elsewhere (these are filed under world then country ).ation

HarassMap http://harassmap.org/ is a new site that is using the power of Ushahidi technology to empower communities. It is encouraging women in Egypt to anonymously report

mistreatment via Twitter, Facebook, email and text messaging . This includes sexual harassment, name calling and assault. The site hopes to identify the parts of Cairo where harassment is particularly prevalent, then do community outreach in those neighborhoods. Users may view the messages and mappings. Information offered in Arabic.
