The latest CERN Workshop on Innovations in Scholarly Communication (OAI7) was held at the University of Geneva on 2224 June 2011. It Collects and provides free access to online resources relating to the ethics of internet research. Free registration required. Topics covered include: case studies of ethical issues involving human subjects, email questionnaires.
Map Kibera http://mapkibera.org/ Another interesting example of citizens and aid agencies using social media for community empowerment/ development. Kibera in Nairobi, Kenya, is a city suburb, since 2009 they have been creating a free open map of facilities and providing news services. For local citizens and community activists. The blog provides descriptions of the implementation of the project which discusses the uses and promotion of mapping technology.
Journalists on Face book. http://www.facebook.com/journali sts On April 5, Face book launched a page with the aim to "serve as an ongoing resource for the growing number of reporters using Face book to find sources, interact with readers, and

advance stories." It has a best practices section containing case studies and advice. Plus useful links for journalist on how they might best utilise this type of tool.
