GSU ATHLETICS AND THE COMMUNITY

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// As a leading research institution THE FUTURE IS NOW. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// in the heart of Atlanta, GSU The Panther Athletic Club (PAC) is the official fundraising arm of Georgia State Athletics and provides you an opportunity to have an immediate and positive impact on the lives of more than 350 GSU student-athletes in 18 varsity sports.

brings educational excellence, economic vitality and improved quality of life to the city and well beyond. Successfully integrating academics and intercollegiate athletics is a key component of our service to and impact on the greater community. Excellence in both areas increases the national prominence of the university as a whole, which in turn benefits the state of Georgia as well as GSU students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends. As a member of our community, your loyal support will help provide our student-athletes with the opportunity to obtain a quality education at a wellrespected research institution and to compete at the highest level of NCAA Division I athletics.

Inaugural Game September 2, 2010 The inaugural GSU football game will be forever cherished by those in attendance on Sept. 2, 2010. However, this game was only the beginning of what will soon be a championship-caliber program. Join the team today by supporting GSU Athletics through the Panther Athletic Club.

MESSAGE FROM CHERYL L. LEVICK Dear Friends and Fans:

• 2010 Women’s Golf CAA Champions

With great appreciation and excitement, I thank you for your interest in the Panther Athletic Club (PAC) and Georgia State Athletics.

• Cathy Mant, Women’s Golf coach, was named CAA Coach of the Year

I am pleased to report that more than 750 new members joined the PAC during the past year in support of our athletics program, making it one of the fastest growing athletics support organizations in the country. As we enter our second year of the PAC, we continue to need your involvement and support in order to further develop the academic and athletic experiences of over 350 GSU student-athletes. This past year was monumental for GSU Athletics as we experienced significant visibility, both regionally and nationally. However, the best is yet to come and your donation will allow further growth and opportunity for every GSU student-athlete. The rising costs of fielding competitive teams with quality studentathletes make your contribution to the PAC increasingly important. Our student-athletes are working extremely hard to be a source of pride for our school and community and, by doing so, are providing PAC members and fans with a meaningful return on their investment. I invite you to join the PAC today, to participate in the membership activities available and to help us build upon the success of GSU Athletics!

GSU student-athletes completed more than 4,000 hours of community service in the 2009-2010 academic year, more than doubling the community service hours completed by GSU student- athletes in previous years

Sharon Baldwin-Tener, pictured below, was hired to lead the Women’s Basketball program

• Tami Audia was hired to lead the Women’s Volleyball program • Brett Surrency was hired to lead the Men’s Soccer program •

Over 5,000 football season ticketholders joined the Panther team in support of the inaugural year of GSU Football

• 16,750 – ranked 10th nationally in Division I (FCS) for average home game attendance

Go Panthers! Cordially,

Cheryl L. Levick Director of Athletics

Donations from our generous PAC members support athletics scholarships, facilities, recruiting, travel, schedule enhancements and non-budgeted operating expenses. PAC member donations are tax-deductible and earn Priority Points for Priority Seating and Parking.

FOOTBALL PRIORITY SEATING & PARKING We anticipate increased demand for Priority Seating during the 2011 GSU Football season. The GSU Priority Seating Plan was developed to provide equitable distribution of seating opportunities in priority areas of our athletics facilities, as well as the distribution of other PAC donor benefits. This will be the second year of our three-year Priority Seating Plan.

THE HUDDLE Now is your opportunity to lock-in the best seats to watch Panther football in the Georgia Dome and enjoy amenities offered exclusively as part of The Huddle seating experience. Not only will you enjoy great seats, but you will have priority access to the exclusive Owner’s Club — a sports club unlike any other.

RENEWALS PAC donors who were football season ticketholders in 2010 are guaranteed to receive their same seat location in 2011 as long as: • Their PAC gift is at the same gift level (or higher) as when the seats were selected in 2010. • Season tickets and PAC contribution are renewed by the May 1, 2011, deadline.

Members of The Huddle enjoy the luxury of reserved customdesigned cushion seating between the 40-yard lines on the home team side of the Georgia Dome. Members also have the first right to renew their seats in The Huddle annually.

6

Note: Priority Seating and Priority Parking for football will be reevaluated after the first three (3) years of GSU Football. As long as you maintain your 2010 PAC donation annually during this time, you will be able to retain your location with the purchase of season tickets.

Why did you choose GSU? The reason I chose GSU is because my older sister played softball at State, and so I already felt like a part of the team throughout my recruiting process. Also, I wanted to stay close to home in Athens, so I felt that GSU would be a good choice because it wasn’t too far from home and I had also always wanted to live in the city.

Why did you choose GSU? GSU allowed me to further my education without work experience. Rather than be denied admission to an MBA program, I was able to work on a specialized master’s right after I finished my undergraduate degree.

What are your plans after graduation? After I graduate from GSU, I plan to go to law school. I intend on being a lawyer and specializing in corporate law.

What are your plans after graduation? To pursue my chances of a career in the National Football League. If that does not work out, or when that is finished, start my own business or joint venture.

Who can join the Panther Athletic Club (PAC)? All supporters of GSU Athletics are encouraged to join the PAC. You do not have to be an alumnus of GSU or a former student-athlete to join. Does my donation include the cost of tickets? The cost of tickets is not included in your donation to the PAC (excluding seats in The Huddle); however, purchasing season tickets does add to your Priority Points, which could affect the location of your seating in the Georgia Dome or at away games. What is the difference between a restricted gift and an unrestricted gift? An unrestricted annual gift supports all 18 varsity sports and helps offset non-budgeted expenses throughout the course of the year. A restricted contribution is made to a sportspecific fund, a capital project or an endowment. Priority Seating and Parking opportunities are determined based on annual unrestricted support. While restricted giving is important and much appreciated, these gifts do not count toward the minimums required for Priority Seating and/or Parking. Is my contribution to the PAC tax-deductible? Yes, it may be tax-deductible in full or in part (see pg. 8).You will receive a gift receipt from the Georgia State University Foundation for tax purposes.

What can I do to improve my Priority Points ranking for seats in the Georgia Dome? Increasing your donation through participation in the Step Up Program will result in a higher number of Priority Points. Other ways include, but are not limited to, joining the Alumni Association and purchasing Baseball and/or Men’s or Women’s Basketball season tickets. All contributions must be received by May 1, 2011, to count toward your Priority Points total for 2011 GSU Football season ticket allocation. Where do I go for help? Contact the Panther Athletic Club office at 866-GA-STATE. One of our helpful PAC staff members can answer all your questions about the benefits of joining and contributing to the PAC.
