Glasgow Venue: Bellahouston Park, G52 1HH Date: SATURDAY 10TH OCTOBER 2015 Start time: 4:00Pm | arrive at 3:30pm for the warm up Start/Finish The Start/Finish area is located within the fenced cycle track area on the west side of Bellahouston Park, south of Bellahouston Leisure Centre. Look out for the One Big Weekend flags and the Pyramid of Positivity! course The course is 5km long, taking in a single lap around Bellahouston Park (see map below). Transport There is no parking or vehicle access to Bellahouston Park. There is limited parking available by Mosspark Boulevard, otherwise you may have to walk 10-15 minutes to the starting area so plan your journey accordingly. Pedestrian access is available via all entrances. Runners are encouraged to consider public transport or car sharing. Information on local bus services which serve Bellahouston Park can be found at www.firstbus.co.uk


Your Race Number (& safety pins to attach it to your running top) Your Race Number must not be altered in anyway. It must not be used by anyone else but you. Fasten your Race Number securely to the front of your running top, using the safety pins provided, one in each corner. We use this to accurately record your results and identify you crossing the line therefore your Race Number needs to be visible at all times. Please note that the swapping of race numbers can put runners at risk and is strictly prohibited. Your Timing Chip Your timing chip will be attached to the back of your Race Number. Please: - Always keep the Race Number visible; do not remove or cover with a jacket - Do not bend or twist the Race Number - Do not separate the timing tag from the Race Number - Only wear the Race Number on the front, making sure the Number is visible on the finish line Event Timetable The race will begin at 4:00pm. There will be a warm-up to get ready for the race and this will start at 3:30pm. Warming up before the run/ walk will reduce the risk of you getting an injury during the race. For a safe and efficient start those running or jogging the course are asked to move to the front of the starting area while those walking are encouraged to move to the back of the starting area. The start of the run will be indicated by a count down and air-horns. After you Finish Once you have finished the race you will collect your goody bag, containing your super-absorbent sports towel. You will also be able to collect your well - deserved medal and a bottle of water. Please proceed away from the finish line as soon as possible to avoid congestion.

Medical Info If you feel unwell at any time whilst running please stop running and alert the nearest course marshal, you can also alert a fellow runner. There is medical personnel on course and within the Start/Finish area. Please consult your GP before taking part if you are feeling unwell or if you have had an illness or injury recently. If you are taking any medicines or have any specific medical conditions please write details of your medical condition/medicine on the back of your Race Number. In the event of you being unwell this information will help the first aid crew deal with your situation. It is YOUR responsibility to decide if you are fit and well on the day of the event. Not Running? If you are injured or ill before the race you can withdraw your place. To withdraw please alter your status to ‘withdrawn’ within your My Details account. Changing/Baggage Runners will be able to leave baggage at their own risk in the help desk tent next to the Start/ Finish area, however there are no changing facilities available. Toilets Toilet provision will either be the permanent venues facilities or temporary portable toilet provision. Either provision will be well sign posted. Simple advice for you at the start Drink some water before the race to ensure you are well hydrated. There will not be any water provided at the start so please take your own water bottle. If it is a sunny day then please apply sun cream before you start the race. If it is wet or windy please wear clothing to keep you warm prior to the start that you don’t mind losing when you take off to run. A large plastic bag is perfect for keeping the rain off and can be discarded when you start. Please bring your safety pins with you on race day to attach your Race Number to your running top. Please arrive early as there will be queues for toilets.

We are still looking for a couple of lovely people to help us set-up and be marshals on the morning of the event. If you know anyone who could help please ask them to sign up via the website. Fundraising If you are raising sponsorship money for charity please do not bring any funds to the event. Please arrange with the charity how to transfer your sponsorship money directly to them.
