Le séisme de janvier 2010 a aggravé une situation déjà critique de crise du logement, de manque d’accès à l’emploi, et d’insuffisance dans l’accès aux services à Port-au-Prince. L’épicentre du séisme, situé un peu au sud du centre-ville de Port-au-Prince, a entraîné la destruction de très nombreux bâtiments construits à la hâte sur un sol alluvial. Les pistes de recherche décrites dans ce document tenteront d’établir des méthodes de construction alternatives, avec des technologies et du matériel adaptés à un espace sujet aux tremblements de terre.
The earthquake in January 2010 exacerbated an already critical situation of poor housing, as well as lack of access to employment, and services in Port au Prince. With the epicenter located just south of downtown Port au Prince, the existence of poorly constructed buildings on alluvial grounds caused massive destruction. The research trajectories outlined within this document will seek to provide alternative building construction methods, technologies and materials for this earthquake prone area.
