USE OF ENERGY A plant with 6 cogeneration modules for a total of 18 MW – this is the Belgorod greenhouse, one of the most technologically advanced and competitive in Russia. Thanks to the ongoing production of CO 2 from the plant, the greenhouse can cultivate crops throughout the year in an area with the typical harsh weather conditions of Russia.

USE OF ENERGY eNature feeds 100% of the electricity to the local grid. Thermal energy is stored in a heat storage tank and used at night or in cold periods. When the demand for energy increases, the eNature cogeneration plant supplies electricity to the town of Carlisle in Ontario, where the company has been growing cucumbers since 2005.

USE OF ENERGY Intergrow Greenhouses has been producing various varieties of tomatoes for the American market since 1998. It is a company with a 100% virtuous cycle. An island mode 2.4 MW cogeneration plant has been installed: the heat produced by the plant, which works seasonally, is used to heat the greenhouse, the electricity powers the lights that together with the CO2 guarantee a steady plant growth. The big advantage for the company is to be able to achieve a higher crop yield and go to market timing.

USE OF ENERGY R&L Holt is a family run business dedicated to growing tomatoes since 1980. In the new 8,500 m2 glasshouse located in Sandylands nurseries, equipped with inter-lighting with leds, they have installed a combined heat and power unit. This plant ensures greater flexibility in the management of the greenhouse’s electricity, thermal energy and CO2.
