New Health Plan Co-op Formed The year is winding down, but our Chamber is still as busy as ever! We recently announced the formation of the North Texas Employer Health Plan Cooperative, with the founding member being our Grapevine Chamber of Commerce! This exciting coop will allow members of our Chamber as well as other Chambers in the region who are member of the co-op, to offer health insurance to their employees so long as they are businesses of 2-50 employees. All insurance brokers who sell United Health Care insurance and are Chamber members can sell this plan, and we believe that the savings to employers and employees will be of value! We will have more details about this opportunity available at the Chamber office and are happy to answer any questions that you may have. Additionally, our Chamber Board is still working toward the possible building remodel and expansion project that we mentioned a few months ago. We plan to have a full report on that by the end of the year so we can carry this project on in 2019. Stay tuned for those details! Ted Willhoite Legacy Award The Ted Willhoite Legacy Award recognizes an individual that has made a lasting personal contribution and enduring legacy making the community of Grapevine a better place to live. This award recognizes distinguished individuals who are champions of responsible change, who possesses a pioneering spirit, or demonstrates inventiveness to inspire and educate others. D. E. Box Citizen of the Year The D.E. Box Citizen of the Year is an individual who has voluntarily and sincerely given of their time and leadership through an overall community development program—working together to improve the economic, civic, and cultural well-being of the Grapevine area. Member of the Year The Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year is a business that has exhibited outstanding contributions to the Grapevine Chamber, City of Grapevine and civic organizations during the past year. Business Hall of Fame Members of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame are long time area businesses that have made outstanding contributions, not only to the Grapevine Chamber, but to the community as well. Women’s Division Woman of the Year This prestigious honor recognizes a woman who has distinguished herself through outstanding involvement benefiting the community of Grapevine. The Women’s Division is proud to host the 3rd annual Elves on the Run, 5K/ Kids Run presented by Brinker. This family-friendly community event is in the heart of Grapevine, The Christmas Capitol of Texas! Meet Santa at the finish line, food trucks and beverages available for spectators, check out the vendors at Santa’s Workshop and giveaways. Dogs on leashes welcome. This is a family friendly 5K held on December 1st that will include music, food trucks, awards, vendors. Bring the family out for a beautiful morning run at Oak Grove Park and help the Women’s Division fund its Christmas Spirit program. You may register online at www.grapevinechamber-womensdiv.com.
