April 9 – 11 the Grapevine Chamber hosted a Membership Event Basically, we brought together several members, both “experienced” and new to take part in our third event in nine years While not everyone knew exactly what they were there for, they soon found themselves in the middle of a high energy, competitive and exciting opportunity to help grow the chamber by calling people they know and asking them to become a member of their Grapevine Chamber

While the increase in membership is always a great thing, one of the main reasons the Chamber’s Board does this in three-year increments is to build the enthusiasm within the leadership and membership on why they are a part of the Chamber To remind us that it isn’t just what you get, but what you can give in the form of support, mentoring, experience and legacy to others. Not everyone has an elevator speech ready for this question of “why are you a member?”, but many of them can provide what they get out of it –building new customers, creating new friendships, finding ways to get involved in a community that makes a difference, and “like our grandparents did – to support our business community because it is the right thing to do”.

Team members found out that it really wasn’t hard to ask their own vendors, customers and friends to get involved Some said no, but basically in a day and a half, with each person involved giving just two and a half hours, these awesome chamber members brought in 174 new businesses to their Chamber. The “shifts” included cowbells ringing, participants singing a little (and loud) Sweet Caroline, and a ton of laughter There were definitely some new friendships made just in the room of volunteers

provide the leadership to get it going but the enthusiasm and just good fun while it continued! The event doesn’t come without some “Winners”! Each of these volunteers were awarded a title to enjoy for the next three years…….

We look forward to March of 2027 when we bring the event back to Grapevine to help grow our chamber and build our community one new member at a time!

And we can’t forget the runners We had several individuals and businesses volunteer to deliver new member packets to each new member While we have three packets at the front desk of the chamber to be picked up, and a few packets mailed, volunteers delivered over 150 “Welcome to the Chamber” packets with plaques in four days – quite a feat we think!

Grapevine Young Professionals Give Back

The Grapevine Young Professionals Awarded their first of 4 quarterly donations to deserving non-profit Grapevine Chamber Members. The GYP “Cause of the Quarter” program was launched in 2022 and is funded by the Grapevine Young Professionals annual fundraiser, Spooky Soiree. Out of 18 applications, 4 Causes of the Quarter were selected by the GYP Board, with each receiving 2 separate donations: (1) $500 check

during their assigned quarter and (1) check for 25% of the Spooky Soiree proceeds of the 2024 calendar year

The GYP Q1 Recipient is the Grapevine Community Outreach Center A division of the Grapevine Police Department, the Community Outreach Center was founded in 2006 as a way for Police Officers to build relationships with the residents in the immediate area In 2009, the Outreach Center moved to its current location at 3010 Mustang Dr The new center is a partnership between GCISD and the City of Grapevine, with the Police Department providing staff and recreational, educational, social and cultural enrichment to residents in Grapevine
