Building For Our Future Now is a super exciting time to be a member of the Grapevine Chamber. At the April luncheon, your Chamber’s Board of Directors unveiled the results of their three years of review and planning for the expansion of the Grapevine Chamber’s facilities. After much thought and several evaluations, the Board feels that now is the time to expand our footprint to include another building on our current land which will house a community meeting space. The goal is to have room for our own committee meetings, as well as opportunities for our member businesses. We will also be remodelling our current facility to better serve our staff and membership. What are the possibilities with this expansion? Whatever you decide. The opportunities are endless and continue to grow as your chamber grows.

working opportunities. Perhaps you need some leverage with local or state government. You might be thinking about starting a business, working to accelerate your business growth, developing your professional acumen, focusing on long-term strategic issues or contemplating a succession plan. Whatever you need, you can find it at the Chamber. The Chamber has professional, experienced resources that are rooted in Texas culture and connected to the pulse of the North Texas region. And now - what’s it worth to have a place to cultivate a thriving business community not only for your

business, but also for those other organizations who benefit our community. You have an unlimited potential for return on your Chamber investment, and now that will include a facility for business meetings and chamber meetings. Your return on investment (ROI) will be enhanced by the possibilities as we grow. Your Board has created committees to help with this process, including a fund-raising committee. You will receive communication from volunteers as well as staff on ways to give to the building effort. Recognition will be given to any donations from $500 up to $300,000 with a three-month campaign to invest in your chamber’s facilities. I encourage you to consider not only how you can give and be a part of this exciting adventure, but how you can use the new space to expand and grow your own business and network. It is a great time to be a part of your Grapevine Chamber.

May 16th Luncheon

Make plans to attend our May Luncheon at the Grapevine Convention Center, located at 1209 S. Main St. (at the corner of Vine St. & Municipal Way). We will Graduate the 27th Leadership Grapevine Class, hear from the Valedictorian, and view a video of their experiences. Sponsored by Bank of the West and catered by Wise Guys Pizzeria. Please make your reservations by visiting the Chamber website Events Page and registering online. The online Leadership Grapevine 2019-2020 Application will be available soon on our website! Thank you for your support! Ambassador of the Month - April 2019 Linda Broom, with Transworld Business Advisors and helps people Buy and Sell their Business. Their focus is on Main Street Business. Any Business you would find on Main Street USA and beyond. Restaurants, Medical offices, Salons, Dry cleaning, lighting, etc. She likes to work with businesses looking to sell in the next 1-3 years so they can give them a Complimentary valuation for their business and provide an exit strategy to get them the very best price for their business and explore tax consequences etc. Consider selling when business is good, as buyers want to buy businesses trending upwards. Why use a Broker? So that you may continue to run the daily operations of your business and allow us to vet the buyers for you. "Qualified Buyers" vs. “Tire Kickers”. We also help business owners who are thinking about Franchising their business. If the business is Duplicatable, Scalable, Sustainable and Profitable. We teach you how to be a Franchisor from A-Z for about ½ the cost of what an attorney’s charge is. We will be doing some Lunch and Learns on preparing Business Owners to sell their business. 6 l M A Y , 2019 l www.grapevinechamber.org

UnitedHealthcare Association Health Plans

Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Association Health Plan overview. The Grapevine Chamber of Commerce launched the North Texas Employer Health Plan Cooperative (NTEHPC) health plan to allow their small business members to purchase insurance like a larger business.

How it works. The NTEHPC health plan is administered by UnitedHealthcare and accesses UnitedHealthcare’s Choice Plus, Choice, Navigate or Charter nationwide networks. With 34 plans to choose from, this association health plan provides Grapevine Chamber of Commerce members with a large group status, allowing for rating flexibility, and helps small businesses not be limited to an adjusted community rating (ACR). Some employers have been negatively impacted by ACR and could benefit by moving their insurance to NTEHPC through the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce. Requirements that firms must meet to be eligible for coverage: • Must be a member of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce. • Must have between 2–50 average total number of employees (includes full-time and part-time employees). • Must meet the participation requirement of covering 50% of the eligible employees — less valid waivers.

Obtaining coverage. Learn the cost of obtaining coverage from the NTEHPC by contacting your current local benefits broker. Your local broker should reach out to their local UnitedHealthcare Account Executive, who will walk them through the steps necessary to obtain the cost of coverage through the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce.

Insurance coverage provided by or through UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company or its affiliates. Administrative services provided by United HealthCare Services, Inc. or their affiliates. Health Plan coverage provided by or through a UnitedHealthcare company. Facebook.com/UnitedHealthcare
