Business Matters Your Chamber's Action's & Accolades: Mission: The mission of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce is to promote business that adds value to our community.

Vision: The vision of the Grapevine Chamber is a progressive business organization that brings relevant and essential opportunities for our investors and community to grow and prosper.

Values:

Excellence Innovation Integrity & Community

Well, we have all sur vived M a i n Street Days and moving forward with a ton of summer activities and business dealings. For the Grapevine Chamber, we continue to have a wonderful team of dedicated members who are reaching out to the membership asking for your support of the Grapevine Chamber remodel of our current facility and expansion with a new community room. If you haven’t stepped up to support this effort, I would personally like to ask you to be a part of our great and growing future! And speaking of great, I want to share with you the news received that your Chamber of Commerce is one of the twelve finalists for this year’s Chamber of the Year Award. Not only are we a 5 Star Accredited Chamber, but out of 7,000 Chambers in the nation, you are a member of one of the Top 12!!! No matter whether we receive that single designation which will be awarded in July, just being at this level is a reflection of the work and effort that our chamber, business community, city, citizens

and staff have done to move our Chamber to the forefront as a solid organization working towards the betterment of our community! What does it mean to be a finalist for Chamber of the Year? We had to first qualify by participating in a vigorous multi-stage process. Organiz ations entering the Chamber of the Year competition must meet m i n i m u m thresholds in at least three of five key performance areas, including net revenue and assets, membership a c c o u n t retention, and membership dollar retention. Qualifying for Chamber of the Year is a rigorous process. Chambers compete based on meeting key performance criteria on the ACCE Annual Operations Survey. Qualifying chambers enter the competition with a written application addressing all aspects of organizational operation and programmatic work. Applications are scored by peer chamber executives to determine finalists. Winners are selected from among finalists based on an

in-person interview before a panel of experienced chamber professionals. This year's competition drew numerous entries from chambers throughout the U.S. To ensure the fairest competition, applicants are grouped into four categories

based on: annual revenue, membership, area population and other factors. I want to thank the Board, all our business members and staff for creating an organization that we can be proud to be a part of, and that you have allowed me to serve in the role of Chairman. Why Does the Chamber Need to Expand?

With our member businesses growing and thriving, we’re looking toward the future. We continue to add value with education, marketing our small businesses & building strong networks of a regional business community – creating an environment for allof our business to flourish. We are looking at more ways to recruit employees, facilitate people engagement and to give back to our community through involvement and promotion. Where are we going: To a place designed around your needs. Including centralized location, plenty of parking, 4,000 square feet of which 2,500 will be dedicated to meeting space for committees and member businesses. A large, flexible educational space designed for interactions at all levels from one-on-one to group dynamics. A “home base” for members who need it. A space for businesses to concentrate or collaborate. No matter what you’re looking for you can find it here: Workshops & Forums, Training, Connections to People & Resources, Meeting Space, and Networking Opportunities. Our members want transformational knowledge, and we have a plan to deliver it in our new space. We have developed a people-intensive learning-focused plan with exciting, new programming to engage our members. We will be delivering that plan in our new meeting space, just behind the chamber building at 200 Vine Street. This building will become the epicenter of learning and interaction for our more than 1,200 member businesses.

At our May membership luncheon we were delighted to once again present the Kathee Livengood Memorial Scholarship fund with a $4,500 donation. This is the 5th year that the women’s division has been able to assist with the funding of these scholarships. These funds allow women to further their education to redirect their lives and provide a better future for themselves and their children. Please join us at our June Membership luncheon, June 11th at MESA restaurant. Our program will feature Mr. Lyndy Phillips, an entertaining speaker who will encourage us to “Laugh More. Ambassador of the Month - May 2019 Carmen Drew, An experienced Herbalife Independent Distributor since 2011, she has a genuine passion for educating and supporting her customers and distributors to achieve their health and financial goals. Her enthusiasm for good health can be traced back to being raised on her family farm in Weatherford, Texas, where she lived an active lifestyle and learned the value of a balanced diet rich in naturally derived nutrients. Her decision to join Herbalife after a rewarding career as a creative educator and art therapist was utterly unexpected. After attending a hot yoga class one day, she noticed a group of fit, healthy people drinking shakes at an Herbalife shake shop next door. On a whim, she joined them and ordered her first meal. Her energy levels went through the roof, and she was hooked. Carmen began a regimen of Herbalife products, going on to lose four pant sizes. Disclaimer: People who use Herbalife Formula 1 twice a day as part of a healthy lifestyle can generally expect to lose around half a pound to 1 pound per week. The simplicity of maintaining her weight has helped propel her into a four figure part time yearly income. She is an active member of First United Methodist Church Grapevine. Carmen thrives on reaching others through her artistic abilities and through volunteering. Her favorite quote by Zig Zigler is “See you at the top.” Her favorite book is “Think and Grow Rich.” Her favorite scripture: Phil. 4:13. Contact: goherbalife.com/crdd16.
