Fantastic events coming soon! There are so many fantastic events that I look forward to each Spring, and one of my favorites is the Great Taste of Grapevine. The Women’s Division of the Grapevine Chamber has been organizing and putting this event on for our community for as many years as I can remember. Showcasing local restaurants, bringing people together for a fun, social evening and raising money to give back to our community just about sums up what this event is all about. I love that this event is not just for Chamber members; I love that it is family-friendly; and I love that it supports such a great cause. If you have never attended this event, I encourage you to come this year on April 19th at the Embassy Suites. Bring your family, tell your friends and invite your clients! If you have been before, I’m sure you are looking forward to coming back again this year, just like I am. Other events that we hope are on your calendar would be the April 7th Grapevine Job Fair, the April 10th Multi Chamber Mixer at the Bowden Center in Keller and don’t forget to save the date for Main Street Fest which will be May 18th-20th. Watch for your opportunity to sign up for the Chamber concession trailer, beer booth or the Women’s Division beer booths. This is another great way for you and your staff to get involved in Grapevine. Also, as a reminder, please check out the Chamber’s website for a full list of Chamber AND community events this Spring. There is literally something going on every day of the week. So many opportunities to support our local businesses, network and enjoy the beautiful Spring weather! Our success in this event has been possible because of the overwhelming participation and the hundreds of attendees, the participating restaurants, and the sponsors. In addition, a big shout out goes to our hard working co-chairs, Terri Hammond and Cass Clements, and their committee of volunteers. I’d like to share with you about two of the programs that we strongly support. First, is the School Supply Program. Since 1991, the Women’s Division has provided the funding for the purchase of school supplies for those student’s in the Grapevine Colleyville ISD who are in need of assistance. Many of you may not realize that over 1,000 student’s each year are in need of this assistance. The Women’s Division firmly believes that every child is entitled to start the new school year equipped with sufficient supplies to be prepared to learn. Second, is the Christmas Spirit for Seniors Program. We work to collect and distribute gifts for seniors in need throughout the Grapevine community during the holiday season. This program takes the combined efforts of many community members to ensure these vital members are supported and not forgotten. Proceeds from The Great Taste of Grapevine event enable the Women’s Division to continue our efforts to ensure these vital programs are supported.
