Business Matters Mission:

Rocky Gribble & “The Woods” Perform Holiday Show at December 17th Luncheon

The mission of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce is to promote business that adds value to our community.

Vision: The vision of the Grapevine Chamber is a progressive business organization that brings relevant and essential opportunities for our investors and community to grow and prosper.

Values: Excellence Innovation Integrity & Community

The Grapevine Chamber is proud to have legendary Grapevine musician Rocky Gribble & “The Woods” perform at the December 17th Membership Luncheon, sponsored by Baylor Scott & White Grapevine and catered by City Kitchen. The luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m., at the Grapevine Convention Center, and donations of clothing, toys, & food will be collected on behalf of GRACE. The son of a West Texas cotton

farmer, Rocky Gribble’s musical roots began when he first picked up his dad’s guitar at the age of thirteen. Before he turned fourteen, Rocky was making weekly television appearances on a country music show in Lubbock, Texas. His high school years in Post, Texas were dotted with awards recognizing his talents on the guitar. A Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Southern Nazarene University in 1974 would soon follow as Rocky embarked on a career in his first love. His abilities on the electric lead guitar, acoustic rhythm guitar, nylon string classical guitar, five string banjo and mandolin keep him busy contributing to the

music of countless singers and songwriters. Make plans to attend the luncheon at the Grapevine Convention Center, located at 1209 S. Main St. (at the corner of Vine St. & Municipal Way). The cost is $25 with a reservation by 5 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, or $40 after that date. Please note that the late registration and walk-in fee has been increased to $40, so please register early! Reservations can be made by contacting the Grapevine Chamber: 817-481-1522 or info@grapevinechamber.org or visiting the Chamber website’s Events Page. We will see you there!

2020 Accomplishments for our Members: I cannot believe that I am writing my final newsletter for the Grapevine Chamber, and 2020 is drawing to a close. I would say, “Thank God we survived the Year of Toilet Paper”, but I also am very proud to be the head of Your Board of Directors in a strange year

(to say the very least) where so much was achieved despite the obvious challenges faced by our families, businesses, community, state and nation. Following is a recap of 2020 and some of the things that your Chamber staff and Board accomplished this year: • Distributed over 21,000 face masks

Follow us twitter.com/ Grapevinecoc

• Continued committee and board meetings both via ZOOM and socially spaced in person meetings • Created & distributed ‘Open for Business’ signs for local businesses • Communicated and worked with businesses and local officials to help businesses find Continued on page 2

safe ways to open • Met with local, state and national leaders – Senators Cruz & Cornyn, Senator Nelson, Representative Capriglione, City Staff & elected officials, GCISD Leadership and Baylor Leadership to keep abreast on all things Covid-19 • Kept member abreast of PPP monies & EIDL Grants available to small businesses, as well as ways to have the PPP monies forgiven! • Hosted the 40th annual golf tournament in October presented by Sewell BMW of Grapevine and Sewell Cadillac of Grapevine • Created a new fundraiser – The Spirit of Grapevine Calendar – to replace our typical fundraisers that had been canceled – your Board worked especially hard thinking outside the box on this one! I am extremely proud of our wonderful staff and Board of Directors who worked tirelessly on the front lines and in the background to assist members and businesses in our Community stay open and viable. I appreciate all of our committees and members who stepped up during the pandemic to assist each other in making calls, supporting businesses and providing their time to others. I am proud that as a business and community partner, we were able to stay open, stay active, as well as to serve and survive! I look forward to continuing to serve as the Immediate Past Chair in 2021, working with Phil Cunningham and his board as we move upwards and onwards! It has been my great honor to be your Board Chair for 2020 – along with my faithful assistant, Mr. Big. We love being in this special community and we love our 5-Star Accredited Chamber of Commerce.

Christmas Blessings to All –

Season of Giving:

Happy Holidays! The Women’s Division has a new link this year to help us raise funds for the Grapevine GRACE Seniors who are on a limited income. Each year we donate a large goody bag with essentials like stamps, batteries, Kleenex and more to each client. The cost averages $25 a bag and this year we have a LINK for you to donate to the fund to help pay for the bags. Money raised on this link goes to assist those in need in our community.

Scan here: Would you like to adopt an angel? We have trees set up at the Grapevine Chamber office and The REC. Adopting an angel helps those senior citizens and individuals with disabilities who need a little Christmas Spirit in our community. Consider stopping by the Chamber (200 Vine Street, Grapevine) and taking an angel. You can do it on your own or make it an office project to buy the gifts, wrap them and return them to the Chamber no later than December 17th! A very special thank you to all the Women’s Division members who interviewed each senior. We appreciate your support and volunteerism! If you would like to sign up to deliver Christmas gifts to our Christmas Spirit recipients on Saturday December 19th, please email Kim Deras at kim@hestiainvestigations.com or find her at Tuesday’s luncheon to sign up. Please join us Tuesday, December 8th, at the Blankenship Business Center. Lunch is from 11:45-1:00 PM and will feature the Grapevine Faith Christian School Youth Choir. We look forward to celebrating the holiday season with you next Tuesday. Thank you for a wonderful year of fellowship and volunteerism in the Women’s Division. May you and your families have a wonderful holiday season!
