Business Matters Mission:

Rocky Gribble & “The Woods” to Perform Holiday Show at December Luncheon

The mission of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce is to promote business that adds value to our community.

Vision: The vision of the Grapevine Chamber is a progressive business organization that brings relevant and essential opportunities for our investors and community to grow and prosper.

Values: Excellence Innovation Integrity & Community

The Grapevine Chamber is proud to have legendary Grapevine musician Rocky Gribble & “The Woods” perform at the December Membership Luncheon, sponsored by Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine and catered by City Kitchen. The luncheon will be Thursday, December 19, at 11:30 a.m., at the Grapevine Convention Center, and donations of clothing& toys will be collected on behalf of GRACE.

The son of a West Texas cotton farmer, Rocky Gribble’s musical roots began when he first picked up his dad’s guitar at the age of thirteen. Before he turned fourteen, Rocky was making weekly television appearances on a country music show in Lubbock, Texas. His high school years in Post, Texas were dotted with awards recognizing his talents on the guitar. A Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Southern Nazarene University in 1974 would soon follow as Rocky embarked on a career in his first love. His abilities on the electric lead guitar, acoustic rhythm guitar, nylon string classical guitar, five string banjo and mandolin

keep him busy contributing to the music of countless singers and songwriters. Make plans to attend the luncheon at the Grapevine Convention Center, located at 1209 S. Main St. (at the corner of Vine St. & Municipal Way). The cost is $25 with a reservation by 5 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, or $40 after that date. Please note that the late registration and walk-in fee has been increased to $40, so please register early! Reservations can be made by contacting the Grapevine Chamber at (817) 481-1522, emailing info@ grapevinechamber.org or visiting the Chamber website’s Events Page. We will see you there!

Thank You for being part of our Foundation: It is almost Thanksgiving and I am working to come up with my last Chairman’s article for the Grapevine Chamber, that you are now reading in December. Out of all of my “duties” that RaDonna tells me to do, this is the one that causes the most

consternation. I mean I have gotten to where I can easily talk to you at the luncheon each month but asking me to put my thoughts on paper is nerveracking. So, I can say that while I can’t believe my term is almost over, and I will miss it – I won’t miss this assignment! Saying that, it has been a good homework project each month

because it makes me review what has been done and look towards what is happening in the coming month. It also makes me realize how many people and businesses are involved in our Chamber to make great things happen. We have great committees who serve the Chamber and community like Continued on page 2

The Senior Services Alliance committee meets to build a strong network of businesses to serve our elders. We have a strong group of leaders who served as Chairmen in the past who continue to give year after year as the Past Chairman’s Council. We have a phenomenal group of Board members who give a lot of their time to lead this organization and this year they took on the goal from the last six years to complete the Gary & Cynthia Blankenship Business Center. If you ever wonder why your business is a member of the Grapevine Chamber – I can tell you it is because by working together great things happen for our community. This year has given me the opportunity to not only serve you, but to get to serve with you as we continue to build on the foundation of our Five Star Accredited Chamber. I want to THANK YOU for allowing me to lead our Grapevine Chamber into the future and I look forward to continuing to be a part of this business community.
