CACC The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (NY) College, Dominican (N.Y.) College, Felician College, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, Philadelphia University, Post University, University of the Sciences and Wilmington University. The CACC was founded in 1961. A meeting of eight schools was arranged and hosted by Norm Wilhelmi, Athletic Director at The King's (NY) College. The meeting resulted in the forming a new conference, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The conference included eight original members in the fall of 1961. They were Bloomfield College, Dowling College, The King's College, Marist College, Monmouth College, Nyack College, C.W. Post College and Southampton College. After years of transition and membership changes, NAIA members Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Dominican College, Georgian Court College, Nyack College, Teikyo- Post University and St. Thomas Aquinas College made application to the NCAA Division II. The seven schools applied for membership in the fall of 1998. In 2002 the CACC qualified for NCAA Division II Provisional Conference Status and it achieved Active Status in July of 2004. Six schools: Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Dominican College, Felician College, Georgian Court College and Post University, became full Division II members in 2002-03. Holy Family College, Goldey-Beacom College, Nyack College and University of the Sciences in Philadelphia became active DII members in 2003-04, followed by Wilmington College in 2004-05. During the span from 1999-2009, the conference underwent numerous changes in addition to upgrading to Division II. In 1999, St. Thomas Aquinas left the conference and five new members joined. Felician College, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family College, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Wilmington College, all NAIA schools, immediately ap-

plied for Division II status upon becoming members. In 2000, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) boosted the membership to 12 schools and that number grew to 13 in 2005 as Philadelphia University started active membership. NJIT moved on to Division I status after the 2005-06 season. The addition of Chestnut Hill College in 2007 and Concordia College in 2009 brought the CACC to 14 members. Only four conferences in Division II have more members. The CACC currently offers 13 championship sports, including men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's golf and women's lacrosse. Currently, nine of the CACC's season-ending tournaments lead to automatic NCAA qualifications, including women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's basketball, softball, baseball and men's golf.

the number of names on the list continues to grow each year. The CACC honored 285 scholar-athletes in 2010-2011. The CACC has also become one of the national leaders in the annual Division II Make-A-Wish Foundation fundraiser. The 13 CACC schools raised $12,218 in 200809, the eighth-highest total in Division II. Division II is composed of 23 conferences and seven independent institutions ranging from coast-to-coast-and beyond. Division II is the only NCAA membership division with programs in Alaska and Puerto Rico. Furthermore, four of the five colleges on Hawaii are members of Division II.

With its ascent to active Division II status, the Conference made major improvements by introducing a new website and logo. Both were unveiled in July of 2004. The website, www.caccathletics.org, contains updated stats, schedules, results, photos and news about all 14 member schools. The site underwent a complete redesign in the summer of 2009 and is scheduled for another in 2012. The CACC adopted its current logo from a design submitted by Royal Rooster Design of Iowa. In 2009, the CACC commissioned seperate logos for each conference sport and in 2010 added championship tournament logos for all sports. A 50th Anniversary Logo was created for the 2011-2012 academic year. The logos are trademarked through an agreement with Strategic Marketing Alliance (SMA) to protect and market the CACC marks. Off the court and field, the CACC and its student-athletes take pride in the balance between academics and athletics. The CACC finished third nationally among Division II Conferences for the graduation rate of its student-athletes, according to the latest NCAA report. Furthermore, the conference established its inaugural All-Academic team in the fall of 2004 and http://athletics.holyfamily.edu | 4

2012-13 Season Outlook

Tigers Eye 10th Trip to NCAA Tournament in 2012-13 The Holy Family University women’s basketball team has some unfinished business to tend to in 2012-13 after its season came to an end in the NCAA Division II East Regional Final. The Tigers are coming off a 26-8 season in which they won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division Title for the fifth straight season and 12th consecutive overall as well as winning their sixth CACC Championship since 2001. Holy Family went on to receive its ninth straight NCAA Division II Tournament bid and advanced all the way to the East Regional Final for the third time in program history. The Tigers dream of advancing to their first-ever Elite Eight came up just short as the Tigers fell to Bentley University, 84-73, in the final. Holy Family returns nearly its entire roster from last season, including 80-percent of its starting lineup. The Tigers also welcome four newcomers to the 2012-13 squad and two new assistant coaches as the team looks to return to the NCAA Tournament for the tenth straight season. “The big thing [last year’s success] gives us is a lot of confidence,” said head coach Mark Miller. “We left last spring ready to work. What we did last year is over. This is a new year with new challenges. We can’t take nights off and we need to improve night in and night out to be successful. We need to stay consistent and have our players expand their roles.” Coach Miller welcomes in two new assistant coaches this season 13| Holy Family Tigers Women’s Basketball 2012-13

that have a combined eight years playing experience at the Division II level. Former Holy Family standout Christine McCollum joins the coaching staff as well as Allison Hostetter who had a stellar playing career at West Chester University. Miller also has veteran assistant coach Bethann Castone-Burke returning for her fourth season. On the court, the Tigers return ten players from last year’s team, including two-time All-CACC selection Erin Mann who led the team in scoring (18.1 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg) a year ago. Mann was named to the preseason Women’s Basketball Bulletin Super 16 Selections as one of the top-two players in the East Region. Mann, along with Bentley junior Lauren Battista, received the recognition. “She is one of the best in the area and region,” said Miller on Mann. “It’s well deserved as she has worked hard the past three years. We’re looking for big things from her this season and look for her to continue to get better.” Mann will lead a group of post players that all saw significant playing time last season. Senior Kelly Brady returns after having a breakout season in which she earned All-CACC Honorable Mention accolades. Brady averaged a career-best 8.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while shooting an impressive .610-percent from the field. “Erin and Kelly will set the stage,” said Miller. “Both had tremendous years last year for us. Consistency though needs to be the key for us this season. Our other post players each have gotten better and need to give us minutes both offensively and defensively. We need to supply depth, which we struggled with last year. With the

2012-13 Season Outlook “Our freshmen are all quality players,” said Miller. They work extremely well and are a very good fit for our team. All four will have solid years at Holy Family each playing a different role but important roles.” Holy Family will begin its journey to the NCAA Tournament beginning Nov. 11 as the Tigers return to the site of last years NCAA East Regional to face Bentley in the season opener. This year’s opener will feature a pair of top-ten ranked teams according to Bulletin. The Tigers are ranked ninth in the country, while the Falcons are ranked second. After a trip to New England, the Tigers return home for three straight games, including two versus non-conference opponents before opening CACC play with Wilmington University on Nov. 20 at the Campus Center. This season the Tigers have seven non-conference opponents; four on the road and three at home.

addition to our new players, we have a good group of post players.” The Tigers will also have junior Katie Duma and Carolyne Heston and sophomore Sarah Pawlak at the post position, along with freshmen Sarah Listenbee and Kasey Woetzel. Last season, Duma saw action in 29 games, while averaging a career-high 5.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Heston also posted new career-highs as she appeared in 31 games and totaled 121 points and 78 rebounds. Pawlak, in her first year of collegiate action, appeared in 29 games as well and tallied 67 points, 85 rebounds, 15 blocks and 18 assists. At the guard position, Holy Family has a load of depth mixed with veterans and newcomers. The Tigers return their top two-assist leaders from last year in seniors Molly Hanlon and Ana Cruz. Hanlon led the team with a career-high 132 assists, while Cruz dished out 87 assists.

“Our non-conference schedule is very challenging,” said Miller. We open at Bentley, which is a big rival for us. We also have other challenges facing West Chester, Shepherd and St. Thomas Aquinas on the road.” Miller continues, “We can’t rest on what we did last year in the conference. There are six to eight teams that can easily win the CACC. We need to get better from top to bottom. If we consistently score, play defense and rebound we have a chance to be successful every night against our opponents.” It’s a new year for the Holy Family women’s basketball team but the goal is the same. The Tigers will look to defend their CACC Title and get back to the NCAA Division II Tournament in hopes to capture the East Region Title in 2012-13.

“Our guards are very versatile,” said Millers. “They can play several positions and are very smart. They have improved their shooting and are very solid defensively. They bring a lot of different phases to the game.” Holy Family also returns juniors Mary Ellen McCollum and Maggie Serratelli as well as sophomore Reagan Jewell at the guard position. McCollum averaged 5.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game to go along with 40 steals last season. Serratelli averaged a career-high 8.1 points per game, as she knocked down 39 three-pointers. Jewell, in her first season, appeared in 26 games and totaled 19 points, 29 rebounds, 16 assists and eight steals. Holy Family will also feature freshmen Erin Fenningham and Kim Legen at the guard position. As mentioned, the Tigers welcome four newcomers to this year’s squad and Coach Miller sees potential in each one of them. http://athletics.holyfamily.edu | 14

Sarah is a strong and tough player. She’s a hard worker and will improve as the season goes. She also adds depth to our post position.

HOLY FAMILY WOMEN'S BASKETBALL BREAKS DIVISION II RECORD FOR CONSECUTIVE CONFERENCE WINS January, 28th 2010 Holy Family 64, Goldey-Beacom 32 WILMINGTON, Del. - The Holy Family University women's basketball team has set the NCAA Division II record for most consecutive regular season conference victories after defeating Goldey-Beacom College, 64-32, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Thursday night at the Joseph West Jones Center. Holy Family has now been victorious in 93 consecutive CACC regular season games. The streak began on February 25, 2005 with a 64-43 win at Caldwell College. "The streak is a credit to tradition that was built and to the people who came before me," said forward Christine McCollum, who recorded game-high totals of 13 points, five assists and three steals. "There were a lot of good role models that I played with here. All of our coaches taught us that as long as we do the right things we will have success. A lot of hard work went into those wins." The Tigers won their final two regular season CACC games in 2005. In the 2005-06 season, Holy Family went 24-0 in conference play. The team posted a 22-0 mark against the CACC during the 2006-07 campaign and went 18-0 during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons. This year, the Tigers are 9-0 in the conference. The Tigers broke the old record that was previously held by The College of Saint Rose, who won 92 straight games against the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference from February 8, 1996 until February 20, 1999. Holy Family improves its overall record to 16-1. The team is second in the first set of NCAA Division II East Region Rankings and 19th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll. The Tigers have won their last 16 contests. Both teams struggled offensively early in the contest. Goldey-Beacom (8-9, 4-5 CACC) got out to an early 8-4 at the 13:13 mark of the first half. Forward Catherine Carr connected for two of her game total 11 points to spark a 14-0 run that put Holy Family in front 18-8. Forward Lindsay Tennett led the charge with four of her six points. The margin grew to 15 points (25-10) in the Tigers' favor when guard Lauren Peters drained a three-pointer with 1:27 left in the half. Peters ended the night with nine points and four assists. Holy Family led at halftime, 27-12. In the second half, Holy Family outscored Goldey-Beacom 18-0 over an 8:54 span to push the lead up to 55-20 with 6:11 to play. Five different players scored during the run, led by Carr with seven points. The lead hit 36-points (58-22), a game-high, on a McCollum triple with 4:32 to go. Forward Erin Mann recorded 12 points and six rebounds in the win for the Tigers. Guard Devonne Richardson paced the Lightning with seven points. Holy Family connected on 49.1 percent (27-of-55) of its shots. In the second half, the Tigers hit 66.7 percent (16 of 24) of their attempts. The Lightning were held to a 21.3 percent (10-of-47) shooting clip. Holy Family outrebounded Goldey-Beacom, 42-29. Carr was game's leading rebounder with eight.

The 2009-10 Holy Family women’s basketball team went 30-3 overall and 19-0 in conference play. The Tigers consecutive conference winning streak came to an end on January 13, 2011 after falling to Goldey-Beacom, 64-51. Holy Family holds the NCAA Division II record with 110 consecutive conference victories. 35 | Holy Family Tigers Women’s Basketball 2012-13
