Even though hot pastrami deli sandwiches have pastrami, corned beef, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, Dijon mustard served on rye bread, you can make these deli style sandwiches at home. The hot pastrami sandwiches can be made for less than the ones bought in a deli; especially if you're feeding a crowd. This St. Paul restaurant offers several "Entree Salads". One choice is the "Chicken Santa Fe". A half order of this salad costs $5.89, while a whole order of this salad costs $6.99. This salad dish includes chicken, tomatoes, romaine, cheddar, bacon, a bean corned beef and potato hash corn relish along with tortilla strips. The dressing for this salad is a Santa Fe dressing, which is spicy. All of the salads served at D. Brian's Deli come with bread sticks, which are homemade. Pumpkin Pie Spice is a blend of allspice, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg. It is traditionally used to flavor many holiday treats but also goes well with pancakes corned beef and cabbage French toast. Built in the late 1800's, this bar in the city of Toledo was designed after the famous Milligan's bar in Ireland. With exposed brick walls, tin roof, elaborate wood carvings and slate floors, it's like a little slice of the potato country. Seating in the place is a few booths and 100 bar stools. They feature authentic Irish food (shepherd's pie, fish and chips, slow cooker corned beef and cabbage and cabbage, etc.) and 21 beers on tap including many Irish and other European imports. Every St. Patrick's Day they are visited with nationally renown Irish performers such as Gaelic Storm and Clandestine, step dancers, and they hold a raffle to win a trip to Ireland. You won't be surprised to learn that the Kerry Blue Terrier hails from the Irish county of the same name. He has been purebred in that section of Ireland for more than a hundred years. Known for his superior working and hunting skills, the Kerry Blue is used for hunting small game and birds, and for retrieving from land as well as water. Size doesn't matter in this breed, as long as he can do his jobs: watch dog and herder of flock. In some instances in England, he has even been used for police work. If you're a follower of dog shows, you'll remember Kerry Blue Terrier CH. Torums Scarf Michael, who won best in show at the 2002 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship. It may not be St. Patrick's Day yet, but that does not mean that you cannot enjoy a nice dinner of slow slow cooker corned beef and cabbage and cabbage. The best part of this dish is that you can have it for dinner, and the next day the leftovers can be made into sandwiches for lunch. I am of Irish Descent and found it interesting as to how many people have no clue why we celebrate St. Patrick's Day. When most people hear the words they immediately think of wearing green, shamrocks, pub crawls, green beer, and slow cooker corned beef and sauerkraut and cabbage. In Ireland it is considered a religious holiday and gets the attention like Christmas or Easter and businesses shut down for observance. There is more to the story of why this holiday came to be. For our afternoon activity we will color. My son is still too young to color within the lines, but he will have a picture with a shamrock and leprechaun anyway. He will get a green crayon and a chance to pick two more. If he doesn't pick his own colors, I will give him blue and yellow. When he finishes coloring, I will write his name and date on the paper so I can keep it a while. Visit the Ft. Worth Public Library and pick up a few free movies. Younger kids will love The Secret of

Kells, while older ones might enjoy The Secret of Roan Inish. Of course, after the kids are off to bed, adults will enjoy watching Leap Year. Each branch also has a display of new and popular books to go along with the holiday theme.
