Our base is medieval Feldkirch, a historic Austrian town nestling near the border with Lichtenstein and home to majestic Shattenburg Castle and the landmark Katzenturm tower. We pop into glamorous St Moritz where the remnants of St Mauritius Church have left this glitzy resort with a remarkable Leaning Tower. The treats keep coming with a visit to magnificent Neuschwanstein Castle - the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle - and we embark on the tantalising train journeys that showcase sensational scenery and make this holiday extra special! Your Holiday Itinerary Day One. We travel to Hull for our overnight ferry to the continent enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board.

Day Two. We proceed to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast hotel.

Day Nine. We check out of our hotel and make our way to the Hotel Venezia in Venice Mestre for our two night’s stay.

Day Three. We arrive at Hotel Albergo on the stunning Tuscan coast for our three night stay.

Day Ten. Another fantastic day as we head to Tronchetto to catch the ferry to Venice. Cameras at the ready as we take in a guided walking tour discovering St Mark’s Square, Ponte Rialto and the Bridge of Sighs. In the afternoon, perhaps treat yourself to a gondola ride or hop aboard a tourist boat to visit the islands of Murano and Burano, famous for delicate glass and diaphanous lace.

Day Four. Our treat today is a guided walking tour of the must-see attractions of Florence including the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza del Duomo and the Uffizi Gallery. Afterwards, continue exploring at your own pace. Day Five. Today’s delights start with a guided walking tour of Pisa’s landmarks, strolling past the souvenir stalls which flank the fortified walls, reaching the entrance into the Square of Miracles, home to the iconic Leaning Tower. Afterwards, continue sightseeing at your own pace. Perhaps follow the winding streets to the Square of the Knights with its Napoleon Bonaparte founded university and statue of Cosimo I – the First Grand Duke of Tuscany. Day Six. We bid farewell to our hotel then call at ancient Siena. Said to be Italy’s loveliest historic city, its heart lies in the vast Piazza Del Campo, a shell-shaped concave pulsating with atmosphere and the location for a famous bareback horse race. Film fans might recognise Siena from the James Bond movie Quantum of Solace. Later we continue to our hotel in Lido Di Ostia, our gateway to Rome and where we stay for three nights. Day Seven. On this holiday we embark upon great railway journeys, showcasing spectacular scenery and reaching gems such as Hochschneeberg mountain station. We head to Hull for our overnight ferry to the continent enjoying dinner, entertainment and breakfast on board. Day Two. We continue to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast hotel in Germany. Day Three. We proceed to the Nature Hotel Steinschalerhof and check in for our five night stay. Day Four. Our first treat is a trip along the century old Schneebergbahn cog railway aboard the Salamander Train taking in spectacular vistas. This exhilarating forty minute ride from Puchberg takes you to Hochschneeberg mountain station at an altitude of 1800 metres. At the top, have a wander along the trails or relax with a coffee. In the afternoon, we take the train back down the mountain and return to our hotel for dinner. Day Five. Today we board our carriage for our “train ride to Heaven” – the picturesque pilgrimage town of Mariazell. Enjoy stunning views of the Alps and the River Salza then take a wander around this unique town before tucking into an included lunch in the local Drei Hasen Hotel. Look forward to a guided tour through the Lebkuchen Museum Pirker. We return to our hotel by train for dinner and an evening of traditional music. Day Six. A holiday highlight as we make our way to Vienna where a local guide shows us the impressive sights of the Austrian capital. Afterwards, continue exploring at your own pace. This evening we enjoy dinner in the Heuringer restaurant in Vienna before returning to our hotel. Day Seven. EUROPEAN RIVER CRUISE ADVENTURE Aboard MV esmeralda Relax aboard your floating hotel as you glide serenely from the delightful Danube to the picturesque waters of the Rhine. Our adventure continues reaching Bamberg, a town often referred to as the Rome of Franconia. This enchanting gem stands on seven hills and is dominated by an imperial cathedral. Day Eight. Arriving at Hassfurth, we join our coach for our trip along the Romantic Road, our first stop is Tauberbischofsheim one of the oldest towns along the Tauber Valley then on to Bad Mergentheim. On our return to rejoin the MV Esmeralda in Wurzburg we pass through Creglingen with its remains of town fortifications and numerous half-timbered houses witness to the town’s history. Day Nine. A day cruising along the Main with a short call midafternoon at Wertheim – nicknamed ‘Little Heidelberg’. This evening over dinner we cruise to Miltenberg. Day Ten. Our holiday is based in Oberharmersbach, a chocolate box hamlet in the heart of the Black Forest with a relaxed rustic charm. We make the most of our time in this gorgeous part of Europe with visit to delights such as Triberg, home to Germany’s highest waterfall where the River Gutach thunders down. We also spend time in the refined spa town of BadenBaden which hugs the banks of the River Oos and has a reputation as a hangout for the rich and famous. Another holiday highlight is our day taking in pretty Freiburg, Germany’s southernmost major town, then continuing onwards to the glittering waters of Lake Titisee. Your Holiday Itinerary Day One.
