Be a Force of Nature COVID-19 Safety Precautions During these challenging times, summer camp is more beneficial than ever. The safety of our campers, staff, and volunteers is paramount. Based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the American Camp Association, and our local and state health departments, we have a proactive plan in place to keep camp as safe as possible. Some of our precautions include moving activities outdoors (weather permitting), increased handwashing, sanitizing surfaces, mask wearing, updated food/meal procedures, and keeping campers in unit cohort(s) to limit possible crosscontamination. We will continue to monitor and adapt our practices and share this information with parents before and during camp.

Camp Standards In addition to meeting the established standards for health, safety, program, and personnel criteria set by federal, state, and local governments, our camps meet the standards set by Girl Scouts of the USA. Camp Alice Chester is proud to be accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), a national organization and industry leader that sets high standards for the health and safety of campers and staff, and the delivery of quality programs.

Leadership in the Outdoors Girls discover a whole new world of activities at Girl Scout camp – swimming freely in lakes, working together to steer a canoe, practicing the perfect shot in archery, exploring nature during an afternoon hike, learning to cook over a fire, and cheering on friends as they challenge themselves to try new things. Girls strengthen their skills and grow their passion for environmental stewardship through our outdoor leadership programming. When a girl goes to camp… •

She will grow in self-confidence and know that her voice counts;

She will support others and be supported;

She will increase her circle of friends, lead a group, follow others, compromise, and make decisions for herself;

She will create a community that values differences;

She will discover her summer self.
