My name is Giorgia and I’m a young architect. I graduated in 2015 with a Master degree in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano. After graduating I worked with architecture studios, maturing project management capability from concept to the execution, within specified dates and times. Among my work experience I have had the opportunity to develop my skills in architectural design from the residential sphere to the commercial office, along the lines of smart workin. During the academic period I attended a Web Design course in Milan and an Interior Design course at Saint Martins College in London. Recently I practiced an Autodesk Certified course about Revit BIM. I love architecture and everything that is related to it, from art to photography. In particular, I like to study the space and the relationship between it and the user. Developing each project as a challenge and a unique experience. In particular I would like to approach more to the interior design field. I am a constant and determined person, I want to learn, to get involved and be considered for my skills and characteristics that make me as I am. I am seeking a response that makes me proud of my studies and my life luggage, which can shed light on my skills. Mi chiamo Giorgia e sono un giovane architetto milanese. Ho conseguito nel 2015 la Laurea Magistrale in Architettura presso il Politecnico di Milano. Successivamente alla laurea ho collaborato con studi di architettura, maturando la capacità di gestione del progetto dalla fase di ideazione a quella di esecuzione, all’interno di tempistiche prestabilite. Tra le mie esperienze lavorative ho avuto modo di sviluppare le mie competenze nell’ambito della progettazione architettonica dalla sfera residenziale a quella commerciale per uffici. Durante il periodo accademico ho frequentato un corso di Web Design a Milano ed un corso di Interior Design presso la Saint Martins College di Londra. Recentemente invece ho praticato un corso certificato Autodesk Revit BIM. Amo l’architettura e tutto ciò che ad essa è correlato; dall’arte alla fotografia. In particolare mi piace studiare lo spazio e la relazione che intercorre tra esso e l’utente fruitore. Sviluppo ogni progetto come una sfida ed un’esperienza unica. Sono una persona costante e determinata, ho voglia di imparare, di mettermi in gioco e di essere considerata per le mie capacità e caratteristiche che mi rendono tale. Cerco un riscontro che mi renda orgogliosa del mio percorso di studi e del mio bagaglio di vita, che possa mettere in luce le mie capacità. The new project for the Research Centre in Nera Montoro (Terni) is located in the heart of the industrial area. The building consists of several functions which are collected in a single element, where the paths become fundamental hinges of this interrelationship. The plant is articulated as well as a labyrinth, in which, the spaces that are generally considered distribution become real arteries of an exchange of individuals. The project assumes the characteristics of a ‘miniature city’ but it does not forget the relationship with the natural environment in which it is placed.

LIBRARY AND CONFERENCE ROOM The bigger volume of the building contains a conference room for 200 people and a library. This element consists of a bearing structure made entirely of wood that characterizes it’s appearance. The warping is presented as a regular sequence of rectangular openings, appropriately buffered, they allow to accomodate the books in the part fitted to the library, above the conference room.

PROJECT AIM
The analyses highlighted the potentiality and criticality of Viale Toscana area situated in Milan, and allowed me to define accurately the functional purposes and their arrangement within the project. The main objective of the project is the construction of a residential complex that meets excellent energy performance. The project is the result of an integrated design from a structural point of view and energy.

TITLE / THEORIA PER NEW YORK Series of Urban Defence Against Gentrification TYPE / Thesis Project YEAR / 2015
The thesis deals with a theme that underlines an interesting architectural challenge within urban policies. The phenomenon of gentrification has been deepened in the city of New York; for its economic centrality, heterogeneous social composition and cultural diversity is a perfect laboratory for the observation. The aim of the project for the city was to counter the gentrification through the installation of a number of shelters.

The intervention includes the renovation of the exterior facades facing the road, the whole courtyard (including facades, flooring, a new elevator, a gazebo and an automated parking) and the recovery of the existing attic with the construction of three new housing units. *These images are an extract of the executive project.
