Halloween
Halloween Cards

This picture may be a bit spooky, but it provides a great springboard for making a couple clean and graphic Halloween cards. Don’t believe me? Check out how the color in the photo plus the elements on her spooky face provided inspiration for me to make two cards. I was inspired by the tear-drop style elements on her chin for the Eek card, and the circles around her eyes inspired my Boo! card.

Boo! Card by Teri Anderson Instructions: 1. Freehand cut three semi circles from blue patterned paper. 2. Mount them on top of each other and then cut one more circle from black cardstock. 3. Finish it off by mounting it to a 4 ¼” square cut from gray patterned paper and then mounting that to a card created from a 4 ¼” x 8 ½” piece of cardstock. 4. Add gems and letter stickers.

Eek! Card
by Teri Anderson Instructions: 1. Start by drawing a tear drop pattern on cardstock. Trim. 2. Use it to cut three teardrops from blue patterned paper. 3. Mount the teardrops to black cardstock. Adhere them to a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of gray patterned paper and then mount it to a card folded from a 4 ¼” x 11” piece white cardstock. 4. Add gems to the tear drops. 5. Finish it off with some a sentiment created from letter stickers.

Pumpkin Decorations

These sweet little pumpkins are perfect to make with little hands and serve as a great decoration for your table or home! Dress them up with leaves and stuff treats (with names attached) on the inside to serve as placeholders for the table. Stickers or crayons are a great alternative to candy and will fit perfectly inside even the smallest pumpkins- just put in a clear bag before inserting in the center. Pumpkin Decorations
by Tracy Schultz Instructions:
1. Cut 8 strips of paper 1" wide by 8" long (for large pumpkin) or 1" wide by 6" long (for small pumpkin). 2. Using a hole punch or Crop-a-Dile, punch hole about 1/4" from the top & bottom edge of each strip. 3. Stack your strips of paper on top of each other, making sure the holes line up. Insert 1 brad into the top holes. 4. Fan your strips out evenly. 5. Curl the strips to form a circular shape one at a time, meeting at the top and making sure the holes align. Use a second brad inserted into the holes to secure. 6. Decorate your pumpkin with leaves, a stem, and anything else you can think of!

Bewitching Layout

I started my layout with the Oh Happy Day "Chloe" paper. The orange and white pattern is perfect for Halloween! I layered a sheet of 10.5" square white cardstock on it and stitched the edges with black thread. I trimmed my photo to 4x6 and matted it on the Flower Child "Groovy" paper. I then cut letters out of the Splendor "Letter Tiles" paper and adhered those to a strip of patterned paper - I used the B side of Flower Child "Plaid". I used different heights of foam adhesive to achieve a dimensional look. I used my die-cut machine to cut out a witch, moon, and bat embellishments. I added a few extra strips of patterned paper and some washi tape, as well as some flair badges. Complete your journaling and you're finished! Door Knob Treats 2

Do you enjoy Halloween or any holiday? Then these super cute door knob favors are perfect for you! And you can do much more with them than just hang then on a door knob ~ you can fill them with gifts and give them to family. You could also fill them with candies and give them to friends or use them as ornaments on a Halloween or other holiday tree! The possibilities are endless and they are very easy to make. And they make great project for kids of all ages! Use fun patterns like I did and you can't go wrong!

1. Trace the door knob treat template onto patterned paper. (I used one of the many templates I found on the internet.) Cut it out. 2. Roll the cut out into a cone shape so that it gives the pattern a curl. This will make it easier to form into a cone shape once you have adhesive down. 3. Place a strip of red Super Tape along one of the straight edges of the paper and remove the red plastic backing. 4. Roll the paper back into the cone shape and apply pressure over the adhesive so that it sticks. 5. Decorate your favor. Enjoy! Autumn Cornucopia by Heidi Sonboul
As we planned out this months cover, we knew we wanted a cornucopia featured on it. There is something about it, that screams FALL and dinner with the family. Our team got to talking and I said "I maybe able to hand make one". I knew it would be fun to do, but I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It took about 2 days to make it and trying to get the curve in the weave was so hard. As I put the finishing touches on it, I couldn't believe I made a cornucopia. I think we all get great ideas in our heads and as a crafter, it's important to plan them out and using a sketch is always helpful. Once the cornucopia was in place, we pulled warm tones in flowers and leaves to finish the feeling of fall. It's a cozy and simple look, that feels just right. Don't you think so?

Fall Splendor Layout

For my page, I focused on the deep blue and brown with little hints of red. Just like any fashion forward outfit, a little pop of color goes a long way. I assembled the background simply with patterned papers and machine stitching. I also embellished an ordinary tag with a label from the Splendor Collection, machine stitching and red jute. A little pom-pom ribbon and a flower with a hint of red and the page was embellished with fine accessories. Napkin Rings by Audrey Yeager Instructions: 1. Cut a paper towel (or toilet paper) roll into 1½ inch rings. Don't worry about the edges because they will be covered with paper. 2. Cut about six ½ inch wide by 12 inch long strips of patterned paper. Use a piece of tape to adhere one end of the strip to the inside of the tube. Adhere the strip at a slight angle. 3. Wrap the strip around the tube. When you get to the end of a strip, use more tape to tape the end to the inside. If the strip is too long and ends on the outside, trim so that the end is on the inside. 4. Use little hands to help you wrap the paper strips! :) 5. Continue with more strips until the entire ring is wrapped. 6. Use coordinating papers to make a set! 7. Punch or die-cut some small leaves from different colored patterned papers and have your kids decorate them. Each person could decorate their own to make them truly unique! 8. Add a napkin and set the table! (You may be able to get the kids to help you with this, too!)

Instructions: 1. Cut two wreath forms from a cardboard box. The outer circle should measure 12" in diameter, the inner circle 7" in diameter. 2. Die cut approximately 65 3½" x 2" leaves from a variety of patterned paper. Fold each leaf down the middle to create a crease. 3. Attach leaves to wreath form using a stapler, overlapping and layering leaves as you go. Fold the ends of the leaves inward to create additional dimension. Don't worry if it looks messy or the back of the leaves show. It will be covered up by another leaf. 4. Switch the direction of the leaves when you are about half way through. This will make the leaves appear to move in two directions, separating at the top and meeting together again at the bottom of the wreath. 5. Adhere the second wreath form to the back of the first to cover up the unsightly staples and add stability to the wreath. 6. Tie a pretty bow and attach to the top of the wreath and you're done! Turkey Table Topper

Every year during Thanksgiving our family will go around the table and say what they are thankful for. This year I decided to create a project using GCD Studios products to make it a little more fun and interesting! I made the turkey from GCD Studios products and a few other supplies and glued it to the front of a can (of olives) I also covered the can, and then just placed markers inside!! Everyone can write on the paper what they are thankful for and I can save the paper or scrap it every year! It is a quick, fun, and easy table decoration and it is really neat to see what everyone writes! Gratitude Advent Calendar by Tessa Buys
Inspired by an advent calendar by Caleen of the blog Craft Critters, I decided to use the Splendor collection to create my own Gratitude Advent Calendar.
Instructions: 1. Cover a piece of cardboard cut to fit your frame in burlap. The inside of my frame measures 16" x 22". Use packing tape to secure the edges to the back side of the cardboard. 2. Stretch five lengths of jute twine across the burlap-covered board. Secure them to the back of the board with more tape. I suggest laying out your coin envelopes and marking with a pen exactly where the twine should go. 3. Decorate thirty coin envelopes with patterned paper. I decorated some on the back and others on the front. Add a date to each one using computergenerated text and die-cut numbers. 4. Embellish mini clothespins with washi tape and use them to secure the coin envelopes to the twine. 5. Inside each envelope, include a note about something your family is grateful for. Also include an activity for your family to do that involves that thankful thought. For example, my first envelope reads: “We are thankful for animals. Visit Bishop’s Farm and feed the goats.” I plan to have one of my boys open an envelope every morning. My goal is that we will be more grateful for our blessings as we recognize them and act upon them. SUPPLIES: GCD Studios Pattern Papers: Splendor Collection. Use It. For the buttons I punches out two circle layers and then button punched the top layer. I added pop dots underneath and applied Glossy Accents to make the button shape stand out. The photos were taken at Cornbellys, our favorite halloween adventure spot. There are hay rides, corn mazes, and tons of Halloween acitivites to get us in the Halloween spirit. It's become a family tradition of ours to go there. I mixed and matched several lines, pulling fall colors for the layout.

Flip It. I chose to mirror the original sketch. I wanted my focal point to be the photos, so I only included the embellishment strips at the bottom of the layout, along with a button and glitter stars. I added in some machine sewing and torn paper edges for a little bit of texture.

Alter It. I used two photos in the middle of the page rather than three photos. I also added a few more details like an extra flower, journaling tag, and fence. The paper I chose for my page was from the Splendor Collection and Oh Happy Day. I love how well the papers go with my corn maze photos. I also chose lots of yellow for my layout to bring out the color of the corn stalks.
