Instructor: Marlboro College Staff This fall, GCC is excited to partner with the faculty and staff of Marlboro College’s Graduate Program Certificate in Non-profit Management to offer this six-part credit-free series. Attendees get Marlboro’s expertise closer to home, and can enroll on a workshopby-workshop basis or save money by enrolling for the full series.

Leadership: Vision, Mission and Goals–NEW! WFD 160-8: T, 5:30-7:30 pm, 9/25, 1 session, $29

Instructor: Marlboro College Staff An overview of nonprofits and change leadership! Discuss how the nonprofit sector fits into the broader society, how to design an effective organization and some of the nuts and bolts of making change. We’ll also talk about leadership styles and what we can all do to be better leaders!

Instructor: Marlboro College Staff You’ll take away tools and strategies to get others involved in your work, from volunteers and partner organizations to local businesses and foundations. Learn frameworks for building lasting relationships with supporters, discuss creative ideas for finding new resources, and talk about inexpensive ways to market events and opportunities.

Instructor: Marlboro College Staff Good volunteers are the backbone of many successful nonprofits. This workshop will present a framework for getting and keeping high quality volunteers with tips for every step of the process: recruitment, orientation and training, day to day management, retention and recognition.

Instructor: Bick Corsa Learn basic building science; basic diagnostics; tool, material and equipment selection, use, & maintenance; air sealing and insulation techniques; quality assurance and customer service. Course graduates will be able to pursue BPI certification. Advancing Green Building & Building Science: The Keys to Managing Moisture WFD 594-8: T, 9:00 am-5:00 pm, 11/27 & 12/4, 2 sessions, $295

Instructor: Peter Yost This 15 hour training will be APPLIED building science specifically for building professionals, knowledgeable homeowners, and others experienced with building trades, emphasizing real life/job site examples. Addressing concerns of vapor and water management, this course goes beyond energy efficiency to cover all aspects of health and safety in creating a sustainable home environment. This course makes use of the web-based GreenBuildingAdvisor.com. Each workshop participant will receive a 2-month full membership to the web tool, providing access to all of its content. Participants can bring a retrofit or green building project to share on day 2 to workshopcritique in small groups with other participating builders, contractors and homeowners, and can earn 8 continuing education units (CEU) credits toward maintaining BPI certifications.
