GROUP MANAGEMENT ➜➜ Reminder this is not a lesson just a tour (Minimum level 3 to Participate) ➜➜ Interview your group to determine skill level ➜➜ Count the number of clients and take group counts frequently or assign another to do so. ➜➜ Assign a tail guide or use the buddy system for long treks ➜➜ Make frequent stops in safe places and make yourself highly visible. When stopping instruct your group to stop below the previous group member (creating a vertical line on the hill). ➜➜ Ski/Ride safe as a group– do not cut across the hill with out looking up first! ➜➜ Emphasize which side to take if the run splits off before next stop ➜➜ Emphasize which side of lift to meet at, top and bottom. ➜➜ Educate clients about the Responsibility Code as appropriate – KNOW THE CODE!
DO NOT OUT SKI YOUR GROUP Reminder: Backcountry Skiing is not recommended – AVALANCHE DANGER HIGH – Do not take groups under any ropes. Obey all mountain signage.
