Welcome to the 29th Far East Football Tournament! On behalf of the whole GAS family we want to warmly welcome all participants and spectators to our 29th edition of our traditional Easter Football tournament. We are proud and happy to salute this year once more a strong group of 18 teams for the Casuals and 12 teams for the Veterans cup. Preparations went well and anticipations are high yet again for another exciting weekend, both on and off the pitches. We welcome back old friends from teams that have made the tournament one of the largest sporting events in Asia as well as being an important social event and look forward to meeting new ones. The German All Stars are incredibly impressed with the amount of highly skilled players and teams in our region, seeing teams from all over Asia, some even from Europe, arriving with huge, strong squads with big groups of supporters. A success in this event can certainly be considered as a highlight for many of us in our career. Please don't forget to enjoy the fabulous catering on offer, mouth watering, thirst quenching beers and cocktails, relaxing massages and finally the party on Sunday night after the final with the outstanding ladies only band; UNICORN. Please don't forget to have a look at our list of Sponsors because without them such a huge event with unforgettable memories would not be possible. We look forward to good, hard fought games, hopefully without serious injuries. Let the games begin. Yours 29th East Far Footballl Tournament Organization Team Wolfgang

The Cup Holders! SWISS FC - Singapore We are back and we are hungry for more! The team is impatient to travel to Bangkok to defend the title of 2010 - and for some extra-curricular activities for some of the players. Swiss FC had a topsy turvy season in the Cosmo League and at present is in 5th position. With a bit of luck a top 3 finish is still possible. Without a chance to get any silverware in the domestic competition we are eager to lay our hands on the trophy again at the GAS Bangkok Easter tournament. Coach Heinz Braegger who guided the team to victory last year has stepped down and the team is now run by Stavros Kofinas. I forgive you if you think you don't let a Greek run anything…but don't worry, he is supported by two Swiss, so everything remains clean and neat at Swiss FC. Having said that, we have adopted players from Norway, Japan, Australia, the United States and are finalizing the transfer of an Italian rocket, so the Swissness is somewhat diluted. Team management was quite busy in the transfer window and the team will be a mix of old and new: some oldies already have won the Bangkok tournament four times and the young guns were just born when we won the tournament for the first time in 1995 (?). We promised their parents that we would keep a watchful eye over them. The team is a good mix of experience and youth. We look forward to participating again in what no doubt is Asia's best amateur football tournament. Congratulations to GAS Bangkok for yet again hosting this exciting event.

The impressive twelfth century Angkorian "Bayon" Temple lends its name to this elegant team, which was established exactly 16 years ago. The strength of the Angkorian Empire is reflected in the depth of this team's character. The beauty and elegance of the temples is noticeable in the poise and grace with which they take to the field and is clearly seen in their flowing passes and general movement around the pitch. Bayon are led by their coach, good-old Billy with his unique brand of total football, developed in his youth, around the time of Jayavarman VII. He intends to pass this on to his players from all around the world, who will bring the club no doubt confidently to new heights in Bangkok after winning the last two National tournaments in Cambodia. The Bayon Wanderers F.C. is a real team of "wanderers" as the players are coming from all directions of this earth-ball. The Netherlands are strongly presented with three players followed by at least three players from Cambodia, six from France, two from the USA, another couple with their super sensitive rhythm from Nigeria and one from each Italy and England. The team heading for Bangkok exists out of a mix of new and old soldiers, young stars and the elderly of the club. The older players are playing under the name Apsara Dancers FC, as they will show their rusted elegance again and again during the coming tournament, while their fast passing game will surprise all unprepared teams. These Dancers will entertain like the Apsara's did, when they were sent from heaven to please in principal the male creatures, though now it is the intention to please everybody, including themselves! As every year the expectations for a good result are very high and both teams will try their best to reach the highest!

B52 CARNEGIES FC Tapei - Taiwan With a squad comprising the youth and energy of several of his first team regulars, coupled with the wily experience of a couple of the older heads, and further boosted by the return of a prodigal son or two, manager Craig Schofield brings his orange and black army back to Bangkok confident of cementing Carnegies Taipei FC's standing as one of the top two or three sides from Taiwan at this tournament. Sadly this year we will have to make do with only one or two of our contingent of penalty experts from last year who helped us to compete in one of the longest shoot-outs on record at the tournament despite our keeper making 4 straight saves.

Our resident optimist, Ricky, has confidently proclaimed that this can finally be the year that we find a hotel where all the beds have more than three legs. The team's slightly less ambitious aim is, as always, is to enjoy our football, have some fun on the pitch, have a laugh off it, and do our sponsor proud by bringing the Carnegies 'spirit of rock' to the proceedings (even if that only means inflicting Craig's air guitar on an unsuspecting public). We wish all the teams a great weekend, and look forward to having a beer or two with you over the next few days and nights!

FINEXSYS FC - Malaysia We're a group of office workers who love football, and want to have fun playing the game. We train occasionally, but not too seriously. That's only because, from time to time, we enter some tournaments at home in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, or go on tours in South East Asia. The more games we play, the more fun we have. And, if we win some trophies and collect some medals along the way, that's a bonus. Just ask our coach. His tactical instructions are: "Go out there and enjoy your football!" Finexsys FC has a squad of 30 committed players, some of them juniors, under the age of 25. Some of them have been talent-spotted by the Football Association of Malaysia and the Sarawak Football Association to attend trials or participate in development programmes to represent their district or state. Before the formation of Finexsys FC, the majority of these young, talented players did not have the opportunity to play competitive senior football. Finexsys gave them that opportunity by actively going into the community to search for new talent. Though we are an amateur team, we have actively participated in youth development programmes, sponsoring schools and helping train our state's team for the Malaysian Games. We have a great sense of unity and purpose, a firm dedication to improve as individual players, and to become stronger as a team. It's more than just about playing sports. Football at Finexsys has kicked-off many careers. We award internships to players that show the right aptitude, giving them valuable work experience in a modern office environment. Many have taken this chance and progressed to full-time, permanent employment.

GAS Bangkok is in its 43rd year of existence in a strong international community where all participants enjoy football in a highly social environment. With more than 60 active members in the club we are proud to play an established role in the Bangkok MBMG International League as well as in the monthly Veterans tournaments. Having players from many different countries (the only continent missing is Australia) makes English our common language. The squad, lucky enough to wear the white shirt with three stars, consists of players from Argentina, Chile, Holland, England, France, Italy, Morocco, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and Thailand. Originally founded by Germans, we have developed into a multinational group of players who aim every week is to play football and have fun. As a result, after every game, you can see a bunch of players and spectators dipping their hands into the legendary icebox, reviewing the match and other events and looking at the future of GAS running around the pitch. In addition, there are a few people to thank. There are plenty of well organized social events, a great job done by Torbjoern last year, now due to a heavy workload in his job this is now being done by Tan. Thanks Torbjoern and we have no doubt that with Tan anything will become here less professional. Also David will step back from his role as communication manager for the same reason, thanks to David for being a great support in the organization of the team operation, we are happy we can keep him as player anyway. Beside that all other functions remain with the same persons, Hartwig in his long appearance as President, Wolfgang and Gerd as the coaches, captain Benni as well as Norbert as the Vets coach will try to continue the successful story of GAS Bangkok. From a sportive perspective, we established a mid table place in a very strong 1st division, being able to beat any team on a good day, but unfortunately also being able to loose to any team on a bad day.

To survive in such a league where plenty of well trained athletes from all over the world are performing, made it necessary to improve on all levels. And as the offer for extended training sessions during pre season, including a weekend training camp, is well received, and as an enormous improvement of our young talented players can be observed as well, our aim can be only to grow in consistency and in the table. Although suffering every year a few losses due to a natural fluctuation in people changing schools, universities and jobs, we always see again new people joining us, sharing the philosophy of our club. More than 30 players have been playing for GAS within this season, leading often to the luxury problem for the coaches of having a big selection every weekend to choose the players from. Thanks to plenty of volunteer functionaries, sponsors and helpers every member of GAS Bangkok can savor the nearly professional equipment, surroundings and atmosphere in our club. This is the base we can be proud to see our yearly Easter Tournament being the leading one in its kind in Asia. Our target this year is to be a bad host and keep the trophy at home, knowing though that only a perfect weekend will allow us to make that happen.

GAS Season 2010-11

The German Mannschaft from Singapore is back again. With lots of teamgeist from the last few tournaments this time is hopefully the right time to go for a bit more. Having great matches and great fun in the previous years, the gladiators for this years have confirmed and will show the best of their performance once again this year. Maybe one of the great moves that we will have will be like the following. The opponent team has the kick-off for the match and starts a stunning quick attack run on the GAS goal. Our still slightly tired team members do not expect that quick attack and therefore a shot on goal was conceived. However, it goes past the goalkeeper, Rene Schieber (or Tanzbaer) and jumps back from the cross bar into the keeper's arms. We are not in Wembley... First shot on goal cleared. The team woke up. A quick throw to our right defender, Steffen Schacher (or Schoko) who unexpectedly plays. He gets the ball and runs for a few meters before a first opponent comes across. He stops and passes the ball towards our central defender Dennis Mecklenburg (or Meckes) who cannot stop the ball despite his finesse on touching the ball. Clumsy, the ball jumps on directly to the next central defender, Alex Bursak.

He easily gets the control and storms forward, some wonder why he is a central defender anyway. Jan Wiechmann (or marathon-runner) comes back from center midfield to get a quick touch. As usual, just before receiving the ball looking right and left, which direction to go. This time he just let the ball drop to our left defender Matthias Spitzmueller (or Spitzi). Slowly going forward and taking a dribble. Briefly losing the ball, however getting it back with a quick turn and then passing it forward to our left winger Cyril Binder (or Cylle). Getting the ball he makes a quick one-two with the other center defensive midfielder, Thomas Nock (or Ronnie). With a splendid touch on the ball going along the line Cyril runs and approaches the penalty box from the left. Getting stopped there, he passes the ball flat to the middle where Thomas Berner (or Panda-bear) is in a good position to shoot. Unfortunately, there is a small hump on the pitch and he cannot strike the ball. Instead, it goes past him and the whole defense all the way over to the right wing to Timo (or Ultimate Warrior). He gets the ball and with the touch of a former professional he curves around two defenders to get into the box on the right and runs all the way to approach the keeper but with his distinct and very precise shot he only hits the right post and ball gets back into play. Matthias Bertl (or Madsinho) who already scored in North Korea as part of this team would only have to touch the ball but instead slides in and gets the ball against his *beep* and the ball rolls around and slowly crosses the line. Crooked he is running out to the player-coach, Rino Binder (or Rino) whom he thanks to be playing. The whole crowd joins him for the celebration and also the players from the masters join in to the cheering ‌ This might be a great dream, but it might also be reality for Saturday or Sunday morning. Watch the stars from Singapore to play in 2011 Bangkok tournament. They won't let you down for great football and other entertainment on or off the pitch ‌

Starring among the team: Rene Schieber - Keeper or Tanzbaer, Steffen Schacher -Defender or Schoko, Alex Bursak -Defender or ???, Dennis Mecklenburg - Defender or Meckes, Matthias Spitzmueller - Defender or Spitzi, Jan Wiechmann - Midfield or Marathon-runner, Cyril Binder - Midfield or Cylle, Thomas Nock - Midfield or Ronnie, Timo - Allrounder or Ultimate Warrior, Matthias Bertl - Striker or Madsinho

Driven by our Argentinean magician Pablo and our Italian godfather Pino, protected by our Serbian-Croatian wall (Jasmin, Branko and Mario) and electrified by our Panamanian artists (Maxito and Joshinho), the Hanoi Drinkers will call for the Grail quest even though we are not sure that everybody will lead this quest on the same field. HK SQUADRON - Hong Kong Hong Kong Squadron are widely recognised as the top club in Hong Kong's Yau Yee League, despite their current status in the second of the league's four tiers. The Squadron club fields two teams in Division Two of the YYL - one with a military background (hence the Squadron name) and the other with Police origins (known as Hearts, because the founder was a Jam Tart). Today, the Squadron side has a strong Danish influence, and by that we don't mean they eat a lot of pastries (they prefer herring). The Hearts side is one of the true multi-cultural teams in the YYL: there is a core set of local Hong Kong Chinese players, "Team China", supplemented with long-time Hong Kong residents and expats from around the world. The Squadron team for this tournament is composed mainly from the Hearts side, because the Danes are at the Viking Cup in Phuket. Confused? So are we. The club's primary sponsor is the Royale Asia Group. They are a logistics firm who can provide customised, global courier solutions to your business. Check them out at http://www.royaleasia.com. We are also sponsored by Amici, home of the best pizza in Hong Kong. "Pizza, Vino, Sport" is their motto, and there truly isn't a better place in Wan Chai to partake of pepperoni while slurping San Miguel with the Premiership projected on large screens. In Bangkok, the two players everyone should look out for are our top goalscorers Jackal "The Jackal" Lee and Greg "Why Don't I Have A Sexy Nickname" Turner. If you see them, please tell us, because they weren't planning to come on the tour and we'd love to have them in our team. Up top we will most definitely have John Kenyon, an Evertonian with an exquisite sense of timing ("I'm not a big goalscorer, I just score big goals") and coach Alex Key, a 25-goals-per-season man. Unfortunately that season was 1993. Midfield is a strong point for Squadron, with Daniel Flatt's flowing locks likely to scoop all sorts of prizes as long as his hairspray doesn't catch fire in the Bangkok sun. Aiding and abetting Daniel in midfield will be Paul "Oggy" Hodgson, a man who was never happier than when Man City were in the Third Division (he's a traditional City fan, preferring misery to glory) and Darren Thompson, a Scotsman who has been known to use McDonalds McFlurries to interrupt his flatmate's late-night lovemaking sessions (don't ask). Rounding out our midfield is a loudmouthed-but-lovable bald Mackem called Paul. At the back there are two more Scots - we don't know their names because we can't understand them - and James "Durno" Durnford, the man responsible for getting us all to Bangkok. So if we're not here, it's his fault. Unless we have succeeded in convincing a former 'keeper to make the trip from New York, where he now lives, we'll need a goalie. Anyone? We also have a couple of guest players coming in from Dubai. We were due to have a third, but he got his maid pregnant and he now has to marry her. So our message to all our competitors at this tournament is a simple one: ALWAYS WEAR A CONDOM.

Saigon Raiders Football Club was established in 1990 and was the first expat team to be founded in Vietnam. Originally Scandinavian, they now boast members from all over the world including England, Germany, Scotland, France, Italy, Spain, Catalonia, The Philippines, America, Denmark and of course Vietnam amongst others. The Raiders have competed in the Saigon International Football League since its inauguration in 2000, and won the first two championships. Other major achievements include winning the 1999 Viking Cup on home turf in Ho Chi Minh City, and taking the plate in 1995 and 2005. Raiders compete in tournaments around Asia including Phuket, Bangkok, Phnom Penh and Manila. Raiders celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2010 and continue to 'sweat their way to varying degrees of success' in 2011. Opponents may note the Turkey on the club logo - it represents the bird of Wild Turkey whis key, the true Raiders' "Team spirit". 21 years ago, this whiskey was the only strong drink besides Vietnamese rice-wine. Since Vietnam has now banned the import of this particular Wild Turkey, we are coming to Bangkok to quench our thirst and fill our veins with it to produce extraordinary performance on and off the pitch....

SHANE FC - International The ethos of any Shane team is to hit it hard on and off the pitch and most importantly make friends along the way - Footy and Razzle hand in hand! After tours to Taipei in 2009 and Phuket in 2010, the Shane machine rolls into Bangkok primed for two days of Champagne football.

SFC Squad: Luke "Clean Sheets" Boag - Luke is a superb Goalkeeper whom I played alongside for the Taiwan Mongrels last year at this tournie. A top-drawer shot stopper with a tremendous attitude to the game. Rick "The Rock" Alleyne - I have had the honour of playing footy alongside Rickus in Japan, China, Thailand, Taiwan and England! He has represented Shane FC in the TML and on tour for Shane in Taiwan in 2009 and Phuket in 2010. A fantastic footballer and a specialist right-back, he possesses outstanding technique and skill. A great competitor and Razzler. Nick "Tosher" Mackintosh - Tosher has represented Shane FC in the TML and has been on both Taiwan and Phuket SFC tours. He is a talented Central defender who is wholly committed and has a superb attitude. I KNOW, I KNOW! Riaz "Riazao" Donaldson - The Rolls Royce of our team. He possesses exceptional technical ability and brings samba skills wherever he travels. A tremendous midfielder who is the Captain of Shane FC in the TML and has represented SFC on our Taiwan tour in 2009. Neil "One Cup" O’Maonaigh-Lennon - Love of the game. Darragh "Darth Vader " Mooney - It is an honour to play alongside my brother for SFC. An incredibly gifted box to box midfielder who will bring dynamism and energy to the field. Expect Box-Office. An inspirational player who is a Professor of Razzle. Chris "Alleynichev" Alleyne - I lined up alongside Chris for Shane FC in the Phuket 7’s in 2010 and was impressed by his attitude, skill and work ethic. A gifted footballer who scored two simply box-office goals in the tournie. More of the same Chrissey boy!

SFC Squad: Danielle "Cruncher" Uidam - Danielle is an extremely skillful and talented footballer with a fantastic attitude to the game. I played alongside her for Shanghai Galactico’s during the 2009/10 Season in the Shanghai Premier League and she represented SFC in Phuket in 2010. Joe "Cocciolo" Lewis - We met Joe in Phuket last year and hired Scooters from his hire shop! We invited him to play for SFC in the tournie and he performed superbly, especially on the wing. A tricky footballer with silky skills. We are very happy to welcome him on board for his second SFC tour. Giles "G-Funk" Mitchell - An explosive forward who possesses tremendous ability and a goal-scorers eye. He was top goal-scorer for SFC in Japan during the 08/09 Season and has represented SFC on tour in Taiwan. Gil-lo possesses a ferocious shot - Goalkeepers beware of The Bull. Craig "Mbomba" Barker - Craig is the only player whom I haven’t played alongside yet. I will have that honour come April 23rd. My sources tell me he’s a Box-Office Defender who can also play up front if required. Such versatility will be a big bonus for us over the two days. Sam "The Wizard" Aynsley - Samus is one of the most naturally gifted footballers I have come across. He intertwines such Wizardry footwork with an incredible work ethic and will be a great threat at set-pieces. David "D-Razz" Bennett - D-Razz played his first full season for Shane during the 08/09 season and won the Most Improved Award for his outstanding performances on the right side of Midfield and has represented SFC on tour in Taiwan. A skillful winger who gives the team width and provides fantastic service for our goal hungry strikers. A ball of Razzling energy. Dan "Danny boy" Kelly - Dan is the Manager of Shane FC in the TML and puts in an incredible amount of work behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the football team. A top-drawer footballer who has represented SFC on tour in Taiwan and is wholly committed to the team cause. Robbie "Sheriff" Bain - Robbernochi is a talented defender who has a tremendous attitude and enthusiasm for the game. An automatic contender for the Razzler award as he hits it hard on and off the pitch. The Sheriff is in town!

SPORTSMAN FC Bangkok - Thailand

We are the "Sportsman" of Bangkok! Newbies to the tournament, but with a mix talent of useless and not bad, and with young and mainly old, we plan on winning some silverware! The Sportsman is one of Bangkok's main sports bars located in the Phrompong area behind the Dubliner in Washington Square. We have a team in the MBMG Bangkok Casuals league, with this season being our debut season. The team entering the tournament this year is made up mostly of British Nationals from a few different teams in the MBMG league so you can be sure to see some unnatural flare aswell as finely crafted beer guts on display! Despite most of the team living here for many years, most of these fine athletes still find themselves lurking around Bangkok's finest haunts until all hours so we can most likely guarantee that the stretcher will be used to bring a few of our lads to the pitch as well as off it! All in all though, we are looking forward to making our debut in the tournament this year and bring the silverware home because we are -

APSARA DANCERS - Cambodia The impressive twelfth century Angkorian "Bayon" Temple lends its name to this elegant team, which was established exactly 16 years ago.

Starting the year with a win at the Hoffenheim Supporters tournament and then achieving 3rd place at our usual Vet's competition we have a lot of self confidence going into this year's Easter Tournament. Our experience and physical strength lead us to believe we will be among the favourites for the championship. Last year, after the first game, we were top of the league. On the second day we had to pay tribute to the high temperature and the muscle aches. This year we have prepared ourselves much better. We've attended trainings camp and we have played in an international tournament. From the camp we came back stronger and /or heavier. During the international tournament the organizers discussed whether they should make pitch sobriety tests. The test equipment broke after our second player used it! As your host, we wish you all a nice stay in Bangkok. The target is to have fun and drink plenty of beer. During day time we run after the ball but on Friday and Saturday evening each team can run after whatever they want. You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you just……… Sunday evening is booked for the presentation party. We will have a rock band again, a cocktail bar and some crazy English dancers. So let's count the days to see old friends, play fantastic football and drink like hell.

Hasi, Coach of the Dream Team (they still dream that they can run and play like 25 years ago. After two minutes on the pitch they wake up).

The German Mannschaft from Singapore is back again. With lots of teamgeist from the last few tournaments this time is hopefully the rightt time to go for a bit more. Howevver, it goes past the goalkeeper, Rene Schieber (or Tanzbaer) and jumps back from the cross bar into the keeper's arms. We are not in Wembley ‌. First shot on goaal cleared. The team woke up. A quick throw to our right defender, Steffen Schacher (or Schoko) who unexpectedly plays. He gets the ball and runs for a few meters before a first opponent comes acrross. He stops and passes the ball towards our central defender Dennis Mecklenburg (or Meckes) who cannot stop the ball despite his finesse on touching the ball. Clumsy, the ball jumps on directlyy to the next central defender, Alex Bursak. He easily gets the control and storms forward, some wonder why he is a central defender anyway. Jan Wiechmann (or marathon-runner) comes back from center midfield to get a quick touch. As usual, just before receiving the ball lookin ng right and left, which direction to go. With a splendid touch on the ball going along the line Cyril runs and approaches the penalty box frrom the left. Getting stopped there, he passes the ball flat to the middle where Thomas Berner (or Pandabear) is in a good position to shoot. Unfortunately, there is a small hump on the pitch and he cannot strikke the ball. Instead, it goes past him and the whole defense all the way over to the right wing to Timo (or Ultimate Warrior). He gets the ball and with the touch of a former professional he curves around two defenders to get into the box on the right and runs all the way to approach the keeper but with his distinct and veryy precise shot he only hits the right post and ball gets back into play. Matthias Bertl (or Madsinho) who already scored in North Korea as part of this team would only have to touch the ball but instead slides in and gets the ball against his *beep* and the ball rolls around and slowly crosses the linee. Crooked he is running out to the player-coach, Rino Binder (or Rino) whom he thanks to be playing. The whole crowd joins him for the celebration and also the players from m the masters join in to the cheering ‌ This might be a great dream, but it might also be reality forr Saturday or Sunday morning. Watch the stars from Singapore to play in 2011 Bangkok tournament. Theey won't let you down for great football and other entertainment on or off the pitch ‌

PHUKET LIONS - Thailand Sawadee Krup. For many of us in the squad this is our 2nd or 3rd consecutive year playing in the Far East Football Tournament Bangkok, although this will be the first time under our new name 'Phuket Lions'. As the name implies we are mostly British Expats, (bar a couple of foreign imports) and we are based on the island of Phuket so this is like a local tournament for us.

This year's squad includes 'Mouthy Les' (you'll figure it out), 'Simon Le Bon', 'Two Cents Higgie', 'Play-The-Easy-Ball Karl', 'Pedro Twinkle Toes', 'Subtle Soony', 'Mr FixIt Tim', 'Smooth Steve', 'Nick The Navigator', 'Kyle The Illiterate' and 'Captain Adventure Andy' who isn't actually the captain.

Chairman Mao and other esteemed members of the Politburo are bringing the Taipei Red Lions to Bangkok for this annual sleaze fest that masquerades as a football tournament. It really is not something that Mao enjoys, but one does have to make sacrifices for the team, and therein lies the one key strength of the Red Lions: there is such a spirit inside that has developed over the last few years, that we are family. So much so, that former Red Lion Chairman Tony Hewitt is flying in from Shanhai, and former defensive stalwart "Dancing Queen" George has told his wife he has urgent business to take care of, and is flying in from Los Angeles for the weekend. Assuming all are sober and awake, or at the very least not completely incognisant of the fact that it is day time and there is football to be played, the Lions expect to field a full team (for once) comprising of: Mao: Chairman, goalkeeper and loudmouth extra-ordinaire. If he disagrees with a referee he will attempt to use his power of veto. Unfortunately this works about as well as his Teflon gloves catch a football. Andy Rooney: Minister of War, midfield supremo and all round master tactician. This will be his final appearance for the Lions as captain. Expect him not to go out without a serious fight. Paddy O'Sullivan: Minister of Finance, Defender of the Realm and British Empire. As patriotic and loyal as they come, and also the team piss head. Has been saving himself for this tour since the last Bangkok tournament. I hope the city has stocked up with beer.

"Dancing Queen" George: Master of entertainment, you'll find him dancing around the bars mere minutes before he kicks the crap out of an attacker. "I played the ball ref" Yea - about 3 seconds after you scraped off the guys shin mucker. Tony Hewitt: Former Red Lions chairman, central defender, known for his uncanny ability to score own goals. Also shoots a mean penalty. Someone had better reinforce those nets. Volker "Ze German": goalkeeper, midfielder, and highly efficient (what? You expected different?) player in the middle. But he prefers it on the right. Nothing can detract his attention from winning games, unless it's his wife maxing his credit card. Mirko "Messerschmitt" Messner: Defender of the Reich, and probably the only member of the squad not to have scored an OG against Mao. This is expected to change in Bangkok over the coming weekend. Paul Hemingay: Beacon of a gay defensive full back. Not known for accepting a point of view other than his own, he is a man who speaks his mind. You'll also hear it if he scores a goal. But he won't. Ralf "General Mladic" Zielinski: he's not German - he's a Yugoslavian war criminal, wanted by the International Courts for crimes against humanity. Accused internationally of breaking poor Bangkok girls hearts. And not just their hearts‌ it has been rumoured he once scored goals, although this has never been proven and there are no reliable witnesses left alive. All a part of his masterful cunning plan. Thank god the Lions are adopting an offensive midfield approach.

RED STAR KL - Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia "Well once again those ageing lotharios from KL are back the legendary RED STAR lads will be in the Masters, in town and in trouble by Sunday morning I'm sure!! Shock horror is they could look different this year as The Guvnor may be absent as he has been called up to save the luckless Hammers from certain relegation as Average Grunt who continues to be a twat, look miserable and behave more like an extra from 'Despicable Me' than an actual Premier League Manager! Also Mark a gogo Hemstedt the GAS tourney 200 year veteran has popped off to the UN to make a decision for them so may also be missing too! But fear not Rob 'Ginsters rule' Davies has stepped in to fly the flag and eat the pies for Red Star as they search for that elusive championship GAS victory... maybe this will be the year the silverware comes to KL with there all star line up of... Rob 'flaky pastry' Davies... Our leader on and off the pitch (mostly off), known for this late bursts into the opposition box (double entendre allowed), usually a couple of minutes after the final whistle has been blown. This year sees a new slim version of Rob having won slimmer of the year by Wendy magazine. Inspired by Cool Hand Luke, Rob once ate 50 meat and tata pies in less than an hour. Glen 'World War 1 veteran' Heywood... " Be afraid very afraid once selected in preference to the Man Utd/City and England star Peter Barnes (Its true I was there). A man who has scored in every major football league outside of Europe, South America, Asia, Africa and North America a legend in Antarctica and a member of Scotts doomed expedition. A little known fact, Glen was a boyhood friend of Sir Stanley Mathews. Chris "Talisman" Neoh... Man Utd. had David Beckham, Red Star have Chris Neoh, free kick specialist and all round good egg. We hope this year that we can bring him out of his shell from the timid and shy retiring guy he is. Chris writes all the speeches for the Dalai Lamar and Colonel Gaddifi. If ever you see Sir Alex on the phone he will be talking to Chris asking for advise. Richard Slugger Sandall... We have no idea who this guy is, he turns up every bloody year, we know he's arrived by the whiff of old spice on the breeze as he takes out yet another striker with both feet. We think he may be Chopper Harris's Dad! Richard funds his annual Bangkok trip by working as a ladyboy at Nana, he was so popular last year that he could afford to add a swimming pool to his Country manor in rural England. Rashid Ghazali - The richest man on the planet... Dato Rashid will be instantly recognizable with his solid gold boots and shin pads with studded diamonds and rubies. An out doors man Rashid climbs mountains before breakfast and was refused entry into the SAS for being too fit and healthy. No one has ever been able to tackle Rashid in his long football career, as no one can catch him. Pelle Aardewerk. We call him Dude or just hey you, because we can't pronounce his name. A first timer to the GAS tournament so go easy on him. He has an amazing left foot, so much so he doesn't need to use his right foot even to run on. Being Dutch Pelle survives solely on a diet of lightly spiced tulips. Neil Outram A legend in the Bangkok veterans league (I'm allowed to say this because I'm writing it). Now clinically deaf having played along side Anders Kargo Schmit for 4 years. Sold in the closed season from Thailand to Malaysia for two coconut husks and still struggling with the price tag. Once compared to Rooney, Mickey not Wayne. See you down the Nana! Big kiss The Red Star Youth Academy

SEXY FC ALL STARS - Germany/China The legendary team in Pink have been increasingly disturbed in the trend to wear :THEIR" team strip (If another team has been wearing Pink before 2001 please let us know) - and how fortunes have changed since the old days of going 12 months without a win to last year's EPIC victory in the Masters Event. The squad is seriously depleted from last year (now down to 11) as 8 of the casualties have either got married and are barred, some never returned from Soi Cowboy and some have a nasty incurable disease and are too sick to travel. Can the Sexy Boys in PINK make it a double and take it two years in a row? Alan Hough (Goalkeeper - English- 44) Why is it always the old fat guy who is always the keeper? Huffster is officially the oldest player in this current squad and has climbed to 100 kg (Steroids?) in a futile attempt to enter the Thai Porn Industry, can somebody tell this idiot to just go down to Soi Cowboy and all his problems are solved! Alex Lee (utility - English 36?) "Little Alex" is a Utility player - (Actually what this really means is that he is crap and we don't know where to put him on the field) but can always be relied upon for spells of brilliance and comedy all rolled into one where the only happy ending for this guy is finishing the game without getting injured! Was once considered to be a high roller wearing high brand clothes and cigars but the recession has taken its toll, fortunately for him, the posh English Accent is still intact Mikey Iannini (Midfield, American - 38) Mikey is a regular tourist and former striker now slowly moving back through the field as Mother Nature takes its toll. Was a big hit on tour literally last year when the dancer fired a ping pong ball straight at his head (you had to be there!) and can always be relied upon to provide quality comic relief when the aches and pains set in. Ross Parsonage (Forward, English -36) Ross is another example where Chemical enhancements really do pay off, now in his second wind, he has broken into the Chinese model scene in both Porn and Fashion and looks younger than ever. Fortunately for the rest of us, no amount of liposuction, hair restorer or collagen implants changes the fact that he is a fuckin short arse and is the smallest in the squad‌. So deal with it you little Midget! J Andrew Barnes (Defender - English 41) Barnzee is the key player in defense and was man of the tour last year (on field anyway) with stoic defending and one of the main reasons we won last year. Has somehow managed to con a business trip into the itinerary to make it this year but we need to see more off field antics from the former Mongolian Ambassador who still owes two Thai ladies 50 USD in taxi money from last year for some reason Mike Purefroy (Defender - English - 43) PJ is another stalwart of the Sexy FC original team and a recent competitor in Asia's biggest Loser, this fat Bastard has lost a serious amount of weight since last year. Is it a coincidence that two ladies were crushed to death in sexual acts almost a year ago today?? All I know is nobody in Soi 11 will have sex with him until he reaches 85 Kilos? Max Tunon (Forward-Panama -36) Turbo Max is the other main reason we won last, blessed with electric pace (is zooming past 60 year olds considered electric?) and just as fast with his mouth, will provide for sure, lots of entertainment, but we need more off field antics from this Muppet this year because coming first, should only really apply to being on the football field! Chris Murphy (Midfield, English 43) The CEO and holder of the Sexy FC Lifetime Achievement Award (Still married despite 11 years on tour), is back again to lead by example both on and off the field. Still possesses all his own hair but sadly no longer possesses any skill, and he is most likely to get sent off on this tour. Has brought sufficient funds to ensure that several young ladies are able to go through university which is very decent of him! Bradley Way (American Defender 37) Approaching 40, the original Dr. Burgos has had trouble adjusting to the Thai nightlife after a very successful run as a gynecologist in Manila and is finding the girls here hard to swallow (whatever that means) but he is hoping for a decent run out on field and an even better one off-field, his new nickname could well end up being Dr. Soapy after this weekend‌.. Alexander Von Rodden (Utility, German -41) Spermy is another Utility (Crap) player in the squad but also fortunately the team benefactor as he pays the team entry fee every year! Failed to produce any spunk on- field or any sperm off -field last year, he has also paid for a serviced 4 bedroom apartment this year so at least if he is not having any sex he can still listen to it. Martin Kuel (Midfield-German 39) Daddy Kuel is our German midfield Maestro and a welcome favorite back to Bangkok where there seems to an ever increasing number of Blond Thai Children speaking German. He has amazing endurance for his age, still able to produce the goods on and off field 24hrs a day for the entire weekend, but has anybody told him there is a death penalty for drug smuggling!

Rules of Competition 2011 In general, all FIFA rules apply to this Tournament. Major exceptions and clarifications are described below. In line with officially practiced FIFA rules, the Referee’s decisions are final. No one shall dispute his decisions in any way, on or off the field during the Tournament. There will be only one Referee during each match. In short, 29th Bangkok Far East Football Tournament will have a “no-age-limit”, “11-a-side”, “11-a-half”, “full-field”, “no-offside”, “rolling-subs”, and “yellow-card-sitout-the-half” format Tournament and a “over 35-age-limit”, “7-a-side”, “7-a-half”, “half-field”, “no-offside”, “rolling-subs”, and “yellow-card-sit-out-the-half” format Tournament. This Tournament will be played on a natural-grass pitch according to FIFA rules. This year, all matches shall be played at Bangkok Patana School, Sukhumvit Soi 105, Bangkok, Thailand during the Easter weekend of 23rd & 24th of April 2011. The participating teams shall be divided into “X” groups of “X” teams for the round-robin Group Phase matches. The Groups Draw shall take place during the Captain’s Meeting on 22nd April 2011, the Good Friday night before the Tournament, at Old German Bierhaus (Sukhumvit Soi 11) Players shall be allowed to play for more than one (1) team in the entire Tournament, if and only if the Captains of the two (2) relevant teams and the Player who is switching teams agree to it. According to FIFA rules, shin-guards are mandatory equipment. In the Group Phase, each team shall be awarded with three (3) points for a win, one (1) point for a draw, and zero (0) point for a loss. In addition, one (1) - and, only one (1) - extra bonus point shall be rewarded to the winning team that can score three (3) or more goals in one (1) match. This means a maximum of four (4) points per match for any winning team. All matches shall be played according to the Tournament Schedule as announced by the organizers during the captain’s meeting. Any team arriving more than five (5) minutes late after the scheduled kick-off time of their match shall be considered forfeiting the match with a score of 2-0 walk-over. The punctual team shall be awarded with two (2) goals and three (3) points. If both teams are late (usually Sunday early morning matches!), they shall both be penalized with a 2-0 loss. Match playing time will be announced by the organizers at the captain’s meeting. There shall be a short break between each half. However, for an added touch of suspense, the Final Matches in all competitions shall be played as a thirty (30) minute match of two (2) halves of fifteen (15) minutes with a five (5) minute half-time break. A team must have minimum seven (7) Players at the start of each of their matches; otherwise, the team shall be considered forfeiting the match with a score of 2-0 walk-over. The opponent team shall be awarded with two (2) goals and three (3) points accordingly. Unlimited rolling substitutions (“rolling-subs”) are allowed, and Players who are substituted are permitted to return to play at a later time within the same match or later matches. Substitutions shall be made as the two (2) playing teams see it fit without stopping the match. Since it is rolling-subs, the on-coming substitute shall exchange places with the out-going player at the same spot on the same sideline. In the interest of fairness and controlling rough tackles & late hits, any Player receiving a yellow card during either half of a match will be sent off, without being substituted, until the end of that half during that match (“yellow-card-sit-out-the-half”), leaving his team one (1) player less for the remaining minutes of that half. The yellow-carded Player shall be permitted to return to the same match in the 2nd half or play in his team’s next match. A Player with two (2) yellow-cards collected in one (1) match shall automatically be sent off, and is suspended for the next match. A direct red card shall also lead to an immediate send-off from the match as well as an automatic penalty of one (1) match suspension, with the possibility of further disciplinary action by the Organizing Committee. After all the round-robin matches in the Group Phase are completed the Organizing committee will announce the knock-out Elimination Phase games and schedule. The following four (4) criteria shall apply so as to decide the group rankings: [1] Goal difference, [2] Goals scored, [3] The score of the match between the deadlocked teams, [4] Sudden-death-penalty-shoot-out. The winning teams in all competitions shall continue on playing through their Quarter Finals, the Semi Finals and the Final. In case the teams draw at the end of the regulation time for the matches there shall be a penalty shoot-out immediately, without playing any extra time, following the match to decide the winner of the match. The following rules shall be observed for all the penalty shoot-outs in this Tournament: Before the shoot-out, each team shall select their initial three (3) penalty taking Players from within the entire roster of their squad, and register their names & numbers with the Referee. In case it is still a draw after the initial three (3) of each team, the winner shall be decided based on the sudden-death penalty shoot-out rule. In case it is still a draw after all the Players in either of the team’s roster have taken penalties, then the turn rotates and re-starts from the first (1st) Player in the initial three (3) penalty takers based on the sequence of Players and their shirt numbers as recorded by the Referee. The goalkeepers of the teams during the penalty shoot-outs can be chosen from any Player within the entire roster of their squad; however, (barring a serious injury situation) teams shall not change goalkeepers during the middle of a particular penalty shoot-out. The winner of the Final Matches (whether in regulation time or after a possible penalty shoot-out) in all of the competitions shall be declared as the champions of their respective competitions; whilst, of course, the winner of the Cup Competition being the Tournament Champion. Any event not covered above shall be discussed and decided by the Organizing Committee of German All Stars-Bangkok during the 2-day Tournament in consultation with the Referees Committee. Inevitably, but authoritatively, their decisions are final..! As always, best of luck to all the teams!
