Swim with the Dolphins at Discovery Cove/ Sea World/Busch Gardens/Aquatica

March 6 - 9 (Thursday-Sunday of Spring Break) Discovery Cove is a one-of-a-kind tropical hideaway which limits the number of visitors to 1,000 per day. You may choose to have a personal swim with a bottlenose dolphin; however, we will also snorkel among thousands of rays and exotic fish and explore the splendor of coral reefs and grottos. We will enter a series of free-flight aviaries where we can touch, feed and interact with hundreds of colorful tropical birds. Or just lounge by the resort pool. Sea World is where you can see the Shamu Killer Whale Show, Flamingo Cove, Wild Arctic, Jewel of the Sea World Aquarium, Aquarium de la Mer, roller coasters, simulator rides and many other shows and attractions. Aquatica is a unique water park with thrilling rides and interaction with sea life that only Sea World could put together. We will spend one day at Busch Gardens riding giant roller coasters, seeing over 2,500 exotic animals, Broadway theater plays and other special attractions.

Itinerary Thursday: We will leave the Rec Center at 1 AM and drive 8 hours to Orlando and our KOA campsite (where we will stay in tents). The KOA has a hot tube and a heated

pool. Then, to Aquatica where we will spend the day until close at 6 PM. Friday: Spend the day at Discovery Cove ( 9 AM to 5:30 PM). Your

Racquetball Tournament Beginner Singles Wednesday February 12th This tournament is designed to introduce you to other players of similar ability. We will take up to 16 men and women. Round robin play insures that nobody gets eliminated. The exact format will be determined by the number of entries. The male and female (if four or more women enter) with the best win/loss record will each be given a certificate and a FREE SMOOTHIE. All participants will be given a discount coupon for a smoothie. This tournament is for BEGINNING players only. (Ask if you are not sure.) Players must be present at the Rec Center equipment check-out desk (located next to racquetball courts) at 7:15 p.m. and be prepared to play until - if necessary – 9:30 p.m. If you have not checked in by 7:30, we will take wait listed players in your place. If you cannot stay until 9:30 p.m., please do not sign up. The entry fee is free!! How to sign up: Leave your name and contact phone number at the equipment check-out desk. Or, contact Randy Hunter at rhunter@usouthal.edu. We will respond to all e-mail entrants with confirmation that you have been entered into the tournament. Wait listed people will be encouraged to come because inevitably, some players will not show.

TENNIS INTEREST MEETING A meeting will be held in the meeting room of Student Recreation Center on Thursday, February 13, at 7:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting will be four fold: 1) To bring together tennis players within the USA community (students/staff/ faculty) to exchange names and phone numbers so that they may meet and play recreational tennis throughout the semester. 2) To determine if there is sufficient interest in establishing a tennis “ladder” on which players may challenge others above them on the “ladder” in a fun but competitive environment. 3) To determine if there is sufficient interest in scheduling a free tennis tournament some Saturday this semester on the USA courts. 4) To determine if there is sufficient interest in putting together a men’s or women’s team(s) to compete in the Bay Area Tennis Association league. A new 12 week season for men and women will start in April. (Ten or more players are needed to compete at either the 3.0, 3.5, or 4.0 level). If you are interested but cannot attend the meeting, please send: Your name, phone number, e-mail address and level of ability (use either a USTA ranking if you know your level or simply put beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate, advanced intermediate, or advanced; we can refine at a later date) To: Randy Hunter (rhunter@southalabama.edu) Thanks, and good tennis!

Outdoor Adventures: Too Radical Stand up paddle board is now available for use on most outdoor adventure river trips (no full moon or white water paddle trips) at no extra cost. Come join us on one of our trips and see what the buzz is all about. You may rent a stand up paddle board – along with kayaks, canoes and camping gear – at the Outdoor Adventure cabin located behind the Recreation Center weekdays between 3 . and 6 PM

Campus Recreation wants YOU to play racquetball. Racquetball is a wonderful sport to play competitively, just for fun, and to get a great cardio workout in the process. We want to introduce you to the game and give you the basic foundations on which to build your skill set. This clinic will be taught by Dr. Roy Daigle, one of USA's long-time practitioners of the sport. Please join Dr. Daigle Wednesday's from 4pm-6pm on court #4. This clinic is going on now through February 26th.
