PHILIPPINE FASHION WEEK 2010: TECH AND STYLE UNITE Fashionistas were in for a treat at the recently concluded Philippine Fashion Week where Sony presented its newest line of notebooks, the fun and easy-to-use VAIO E Series. Apropos of the event, the E Series is a stylish 14-inch notebook that is perfect for everyday browsing, blogging or viewing multimedia. Uniquely designed to stand out, the E series comes in glossy vivid colors of blue, pink and white with dot gradation all around that’s sure to grab attention when you’re out and about. In classy form, a silvered VAIO logo is set on the notebook’s top panel. Showcased during the Design Fusion / Vision & Trends show, the E Series made its way down the runway with original creations of young Filipino designers— Bo Parcon, Dimple Lim, Don Protacio, Jot Losa, Russell Villafuerte, Anthony Cezar Ramirez, Don Delantar, Enrico Carado, Herbert Custodio, Kermit Tesoro , Oz Go and Xernan Orticio. Designed with everyday ease of use firmly in mind, the E series has a quick launch Web button that allows the user to instantly start surfing without needing to boot up Windows. Equipped with 16:9 real wide VAIO display with up to 1600 x 900 resolutions) WXGA: 1366x768 TFT color display and with LED backlight. In another part of the venue, Rusty Lopez also held its own “coming out” show, as it launched its new footwear and apparel collection. Highlighted were fashionable and funky designs as well as the brand’s classic styles in its Holiday 2010 and Summer 2011 collections. Some of the newer styles from Philippines’ very own footwear specialist were beaded booties, studded stilettos, high-cut

embellished sandals, platform shoes made of suede, snake-skin shooties and multi-strap sandals made with pewter metallic beads specifically designed for the strong and powerful woman. Equally eye-catching were male models who heeded the call of the wild and wore belted ankle boots made of full-grain leather and formal loafers with animal prints. Rusty Lopez’s men’s collection focused on working leather shoes in patent styles, formal monkstrap and lace-up dress shoes. As an homage to Fifties’ icon John F. Kennedy and all men who are sophisticated and refined, out came comfortable casual leather thongs, lace-up topsiders, boat shoes, sandals and sporty summer pairs.
