TRAVELLING MAN: NEIL BUCHAN GRANT I’m a self-taught photographer who got into photography by reading magazines about gear. I work as a travel and portrait photographer. From a commercial standpoint, travel photography is about going through a huge shot list of 300-400 items – it could be Paganini’s violin in a museum or a certain vista on a certain beach – but the really exciting part is when you go off the scheduled list and find something that inspires you. I’ve used all sorts of cameras down the years, but now I’m concentrating on the Olympus OM-D EM-1. It’s a beautiful machine with a superb selection of lenses – fast primes and good zooms – and because they all fit in a tiny bag, I can keep them on me in the plane. I’m looking to develop a signature look – when you take a picture that nobody else would have seen and it’s really something only you could have noticed is when photography feels fantastic.

“I love the new M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm f/1.8 lens – it’s amazingly sharp, contrasty and has a gorgeous bokeh.”
