Inspired by The Kinks’ song of the same name, FS Lola is a brand new typeface with a rare combination of both masculine and feminine qualities. Ray Davies wrote the lyrics to Lola after the band’s manager spent a drunken night dancing in a club with what he believed to be a beautiful woman; half way through the evening ‘her’ stubble started to show and the rest is history! Phil Garnham had a similar experience designing FS Lola; setting out to create a sans serif font, he realised along the way that he actually had a semi serif on his hands. Persevering, he’s given birth to a typeface that encapsulates the very best of male and female qualities – a versatile font in a range of weights, with a distinctly individual personality. We think that FS Lola offers something for every design – whatever your preference.
