MESSAGE FR OM THE FOUNDATI O N P R E SI DE N T On behalf of the JCC Foundation Board of Directors, Dr. David Johnson, and the College trustees, I extend sincere gratitude for your generous support. In the 2010-2011 fiscal year, the College Foundation’s assets grew from $4,472,566 in 2010 to $5,133,715 as of June 30, 2011 — an increase of 13%. For the same time period, more than $540,000 was contributed by individuals, corporations, and foundations. All of these gifts directly support the College, its mission, and the important work of our faculty and staff who provide outstanding educational and workforce development opportunities to individuals in our county and region. Notable highlights of the 2010-2011 fiscal year were the College Foundation’s annual fall Donor Appreciation and Scholarship Recipient event, the nearly $60,000 raised during the 16th annual Neal Lancaster – Four Oaks Bank Charity Classic, a successful Dollars for Scholars event, and the official dedication and donor recognition of the Frank Creech Art Gallery. The College Foundation also transformed its mini-grants program to the Innovation Grants Program, a competitive grants award program for faculty and staff. And speaking of innovation, the College Foundation developed a new
President’s Innovation Fund, a fund established to assist the trustees and College president in meeting emergent and pressing needs of our institution and student body. To date, 11 corporations and individuals have named spaces in the newly constructed Learning Resource Center to initiate support for this fund. Please know that none of this would be possible without the dedication and faithful support of our alumni and friends. Your support serves a critical role in enhancing our college and community and the lives of thousands of individuals.
